One thing I'm really starting to dislike now that I'm in ChpSel is how absurdly dependent the non-active characters are on the player in order to do literally anything other than their basic attack and guard.
I get that the game was designed for the player to switch between characters in battle frequently, but that's no excuse for not putting instances in the non-active AI to throw you a potion/curative item/use healing spells/esuna if they have them when the character you're controlling is about to die and might not last long enough to wait on the player to choose a command and wait for it to be executed. Even an AI using a phoenix down when someone goes down would be a godsend in some of these hard fights with relentless bosses
Yeah to be honest man, as “thrilling” as the combat is, i really just wish they kept it turn-based.
I understand from a business perspective why you wouldn’t be able to do that though, So I get it. But damn. I really do wish.

Well check out DQ11 after you're done with this one if you want some quality classic turn based battles
does it end abruptly?
No
I also think it hurts me a bit more cause i literally stopped playing DQ11 near the end in order to download and play FF7R — and every town in that game had like at least a dozen buildings and houses you could run into and find tons of loot and special items.
Actually one of my favorite RPGs ever

I played DQVIII and Dark Cloud back in the day, and always wanted to play Rogue Galaxy cause it looked cool.
Havent played any of the others, but i think one I saw one of the Ni no Kuni games from a while back being hyped up

I have it on PS2 so idk but I think its HD not sure
I mean the original is pretty much superior in a lot of ways to be honest and niggas been waiting on this s*** for years expecting a remake not a reimagining. I get what you are saying but the ending is pretty awful (story not the gameplay part) and they pretty much got rid of the whole mystique surrounding Sephiroth.
Gameplay part of the ending was 10 outta 10 tho, one of my favourite experience in gaming in a while, kinda sad that people not talking about that aspect of the ending
how is the mystique gone? in the sense that you see him more often in this, i guess you become more familiar with his presence, sure, if that's what you mean by mystique. but the story of his character is less predictable than it's ever been due to the fact that SE is changing the story around.

less predictable how? Just the fact that its different that the OG? That don't make it better. I do think the fact that we barely get too see Sephiroth in the OG makes him more mysterious tho, like you don't know see him at all, all you know is that he is some kind of legend, then you get to the presidents floor, see a blood trail only to find out that your enemy has a long sword sticking out of him and he is already dead. Idk man, the whole atmosphere and darkness of the OG just seems completely gone in the remake
i would assume square is far along in development on part 2. if they follow the capcom route we could probably see it next year

right yeah i am not necessarily saying that ff7 remake is better than ff7, i'm just acknowledging that there's still mystique in this game, and it's precisely bc they're changing the story up. that alone excites me cus i figured i would be completely not surprised in playing this game
now i have something to look forward to, to see what they do with all this

Yeah I get you, i'm excited to see what happens, but that moment that I mentioned in my previous post was really dope and im kinda upset they aint have that in the remake. Like them not doing a 1:1 adaptation of the OG might mean there might be even more dope moments that won't get shown in the remake
just got to chapter 9 on hard mode, man this s*** is just as fun the 2nd time around lol, this might be one of those games i play over and over like persona 5
I can’t get enough of this game. I seriously can’t. Legit think I have a new favorite game now.
