it's pretty common now for publishers to do collectors editions with a code in the box or even no code, just the physical items. I'm gonna play on pc anyway so I don't need a disc, mainly just hoping for a cool statue tbh

Game companies all like “ final two years of disc we going to pick and choose “

FF7 remake is goated. Has some of the sickest combat and storytelling I’ve seen in a game and there’s also a rhythm QTE section where you have to dance in a gay bar so they can make you into a woman. It doesn’t get cooler than this. Also Aeirith Tifa

Only played X and now halfway through 7 remake and got rebirth ready to download. Loving getting into this franchise

Just started VII Remake, my first FF game. Think I'm on Chapter 3, about 5 hours in

Dunkey wasn't lying when he made a video about this game, the anime sighs/grunts are so overdone and annoying Tifa is also so animated and over the top with her leaning forward and random movements while she's speaking. I'm fast forwarding through most of these conversations/cutscenes because they waste so much time. Might just be a Japanese thing, I remember doing the same in Persona 5

Gameplay is great but my brain is struggling with the Guard mechanic. In most games that play like this, guarding cancels your attack so you can completely avoid damage but it's like this game still wants you to take damage even when you guard, just less. So your attack animation continues even if you press Guard. It's like it plays like an action game but still holds onto concepts of a turn based RPG. Not saying that's a flaw of the game, but I can't get this down and I lose at least a quarter of my health bar during every fight

On like Chapter 8 now. I love this game, feels great to play. But I feel like the combat still not quite clicking for me, like I should be better at it than I am and I'm struggling with fights more than I should be. I'm still struggling with the timing of blocks and dodges because the animations play out slower in the game than I expect them to

I just beat Reno last night, he had me use like 10 hi-potions and I was one hit away from death but luckily I had limit break and used it at the last second. But he was hitting me with most of those blue orbs he threw, the timing on the roll felt weird

I figured that you need to be switching between characters to build up AP for each of them or to help out when your character gets stunned. So it's great that they made combat with every character different and fun in their own way, I don't mind playing as any character in my party

the combat is hard to adjust to but near end game you should be fine. dont even worry about dodging in remake tbh it get much better in rebirth (you go a much further distance)

blocking is still your best bet even if you take a little damage

The harder optional fights in rebirth made me realize how absolutely terrible i am at these games its actually so strategic you really cant just play like a dumbass mashing buttons, awesome stuff

man the combat system really doesn’t get enough credit. these games are a great synthesis of strategy and action it’s really hard to overstate how they threaded the needle on this

I almost feel bad because i kinda play the game like a dumbass and am barely scratching the surface of how crazy this combat system is but yeah its amazing , i think what really makes it click is how great the enemies are, theres a sort of puzzle solving element to a lot of the battles that just works so well
