This game keeps on getting better and better.
Goosebumps.
I know exactly what you are talking about Cids daughter, but I don’t think the side quests are engaging enough that I would go out of my way to do them and learn more about Valisthea.
The quality of these side quests aren’t any different from those we have seen in other games with a hundred of these, and I’m sure you could argue that the side quests in those games are also to “learn more about the world”
I don't have a way to confirm this yet but I think the people you help during your side quests survive and show up in the new Hideaway.
Vivian Ninetales whole situation map and Grand Cast is everything I ever wanted in FF. Oh my god. This game is a 10/10 for that alone because past FF titles didn't even bother explaining the past story let alone what was happening in game. This fixed all the plot holes for me.
Imma buy this f***in soundtrack
Did they show Benediktas head in the box during that Hugo scene? it was so late I was falling asleep during that scene and missed half of it

They didn’t explicitly show that but they should’ve. Don’t know why they were shy

That’s lame
LMAO
I just seen a guy online say "I'm a long time Final Fantasy fan & I think the game is great."
The guy he's going back and forth with goes "Yeah, I figured that would be your answer. Shows me what type of person you are."

Bro what is wrong with people? The internet really makes people think if a mf disagrees with them they are wrong & it's their duty to change your mind & to hell with you if you don't lol
Skill up hates it so this must be goty
I get why they did it to avoid controversy but I just don't think the themes are fully explored enough. Its cool they attempt the risk. t has some of the seriousness of game of thrones just with a main character who never smiles, laughs or shows human emotions of much kind. Combined with a world that doesn't respond to the actions of the player enough
ya true that makes sense and it does have a GOT vibe to it
People d*** riding hard as hell and i love this game a lot so far . Like damn just cause they said “this is how things will be” doesn’t mean you have to like it . People mad at people for disliking s*** just cause the expectation was set . A game can be amazing and still be criticized
Has anyone in here gotten baphomet eikon powers yet? That and Odín have the best abilities once you get them. Hate they are so far in the game though.

I mean, I agree but that was a defensible argument. They did state that, and plus the way the combat is structured to give you so many abilities wouldn’t make sense to just use others just to swing a sword, besides maybe command them around.
Doesn’t seem like the Dragon guy knew. If you want characterization, the game does that well without you controlling them.
Hugo pissed me off with that love tantrum, I find it funny how the other characters mock him behind his back for fighting over a hoe that didn’t even love him but just was using him lol biggest guy and simp

That’s my point though , a lot of people are making the defense of “it was stated” “they said the game would be more action oriented” as some kind of weird defense as to why it should be a non issue for certain players. Only thing i can get is people complaining about systems that don’t exist or maybe never have. but complaining about ones that do (the party system for example) are fine no matter the expectation set . Just because he knows the intent now doesn’t mean he will magically like how it was handled.

Yeah I see what you are saying and won’t say it is wrong. I agree it is still fair to say that after playing you didn’t like how it was handled, but gave it a try knowing what it was going to be. But I just think for example if something is a fps shooter and you don’t like fps shooters, you can’t bring down the objective score of it. You can rate your personal enjoyment, and say it’s not your preference, but it’s graded on “did it do well in what it was intending to be” (because this is more similar to DMC or games like that which don’t really have a party system either).
So I see why those defenses are made too, because they went into the game knowing what it was. Basically the Dragon guy had a point, but he’s focused on the elements the game wasn’t even trying to accomplish.
I don't have any words to describe what I just experienced in this boss fight holy f***
Honestly who cares if it "feels like Final Fantasy" is the game that you are playing in front of you fun or not?

Don’t get me wrong, FF7 remake is more my cup of tea because of the party system, and I enjoy that more than this but I also went in knowing it wouldn’t have the same type of situation. So if the game loss points for not being something people wanted then that can be considered unfair criticism by having expectations for something it wasn’t trying to be like.
