@redtruth apparently in the livestream thing they had today, they mentioned that one cinematic fire dodge you weren't f***ing with was due to an optional accessory
Thats great to hear, the animation for that looked so clunky which is strange because the animations for everything else has been pretty amazing
Why is this game so expensive lmao? This is $93.50 in Canada before tax
Just realized ff15 is also $93.50. That’s insane
I agree with most of this but primarily the beginning of pacing feeling off.
Eikon Battle felt like some on rail thing akin to Drakengard in early 2000s. The QTE my issue isn't just that its QTE so much that when a giant circle showing a countdown is covering some of what I am looking at it doesn't even feel like a QTE I can fail. QTE in games works for me sometimes but if there is no fail state or its slightly too easy its basically like Netflix saying "are you still there". But surprisingly no QTE during cutscenes ( Makes sense though because of Lore Guide)
The R2 to interact with stuff is 100% clearly for Dualsense haptic feedback. Pushing open doors just doesn't lead to immersion for me though.
I don't think Eikon battles will really be failable unless so are half asleep. They feel like they are just supposed to look cool. Later game some of the gameplay I saw they look even cooler with scale and maybe then failable, but this one is simple. Again please give me one Eikon battle that reminds me of War of the Monsters. I saw one with huge scale though.
The combat you can definitely possibly do a lot with . Air comboing their friends while they like "oh f*** I am next". I wouldn't be hard on a first boss or even consider that a true first boss. That is more of a tutorial sponge so go easy on that.
I actually feel if they didn't drop a demo and many just played this they would be confused but would definitely play more

Day 1 patch lets us toggle off motion blur
PRAISE THE GODS
Seems like every quibble that people had with the game is already mostly been addressed.
Also, apparently SkillUp has been liking a bunch of FFXVI tweets, so I think this game is probably gonna be received really well.
Still sticking with 92.

not really every. Just much of the quibbles we have to play more of the game to know. Its a good demo though but there is much more to the vertical slice than first 2 hours so we play on
Not asking about the specifics or anything about a particular plot point or gameplay details, just a general question about the nature of the leaks
Resetera is melting down over them and dooming the game. Is it a case of that site being particularly full of 2016 era restistance libs or is there stuff that would seriously get the game knocked down a few points?
I know some people are really bad at handling dark themes in media and act like that’s a fault of the writers, so just wondering
Resetera is over reacting to tropes that are very present in medieval times, IMO. The game is dark and true to the time. The things they are melting down about are similar to things present in GoT that they probably all love.

I don’t think thats on the day 1 patch. Pretty sure they just mentioned a few performance improvements and the motion blur fix comes in later

This
NG+ looks cool but I was kinda hoping they would treat bosses like Savage in ffxiv, thought I read somewhere that bosses would have new mechanics but I guess thats just Twitter making s*** up

I am reading some because I am not worried about spoilers or will stop when its actual story
A triggering topic is addressed in game in short

Did they mention hunts being different in FF mode?

Ya

was skimming through their concerns dodging major story spoilers but story not so much their concern as that.
Beyond that they speak on a lack of side quest variety but its just so much going on there on reset era
Resetera thread is very much recognizing story wise that this game will be dark through and through. With some tropes and some serious topics addressed which creators have told us in the lead up. When it comes to dark topics I agree its how its addressed 100% but if topics are outright triggering to people I can't tell them that this game will be something that handles it well. Especially when some of them go to games to escape. They don't want the last of us so I get it lol
But to answer the question handling dark topics won't cause the game to lose review points. Unless its executed in an edgy provocative way
