yeah that's fair. i just remember spamming unleash over and over in the lower level dungeons
from what i gather, it seems like if someone knows how to do the first trial, it's dumb easy, since you can just follow them everywhere. i gotta do a bit more looking into the fights until i'm a bit more comfortable, but they don't seem overly difficult or anything.
also, out of curiousity, what're your thoughts on stuff like cactbot?
Yeah the first trial can be carried heavy by just marking someone who knows the safe spot and just following them.
Outside of two very specific raids (both ultimates) I don't use it at all. One of these fights you can do without cactpot but just requires reading the boss dialouge (UCOB) but the other one will be very messy without it (Ultima Weapon) since it requires too much co-ordination, I imagine this fight is kinda f***ed for console users so they stopped creating mechanics like that.
I know it can do things like callout when buffs are being used but the longer you play the less you actually need it.

How are y'all liking Endwalker (story and content) so far? Haven't had any time to play since I'm trying to get through RDR2 + finishing up some projects at my workplace.
Haven't seen a single piece of footage, criticism, or even discussion, so I'm curious how you guys are feeling

Honestly think the music, story, dungeons and trials a step up from Shadowbringers. Strangely enough I feel like this expansion also somehow made the Shadowbringers story even better?
Without getting into spoilers but some of the things revealed in the story are especially crazy; I feel like if you watch some Shadowbringer cutscenes with the s*** you know after playing Endwalker you gonna see it in a completely different light
The only criticism I have is one specific quest during the late game where the game asks you to find EIGHT npcs, that was actually annoying as f***
That being said though, that really tedious questline lead up to one of my favourite moments in the expansion so imma overlook it

yeah, that's about what i figured. i've seen ppl just say it's straight up cheating (???), but don't think it's that serious
seems like it'd be good for learning, but can def see it being used as a crutch.
finished up the first ex trial. wasn't bad at all. satisfying to get that s*** done, especially on the second attempt with this group

big agree, especially with it making the shadowbringers story even better. i personally didn't mind the npc quest too much, though i can see why people find it to be a pain. i was more "annoyed" with talking to the different races on ultima thule. not like it was bad or anything, but i just wanted to see how the story ended. didn't help there was legit like 5 quests left at that point

Only plugin I see as cheating in this game so far is if you use trigonometry plugin in pvp, I heard you can set it up so that you can automatically use an action like stun when someone is casting a spell or something

sounds incredible. I can't wait to get back into the game.
Just gotta get through 5.4 and 5.5 and also finish up what I've got left for work

I’m only at level 88 and this is already as good as shadowbringers. May even top it if they nail the conclusion.
I’ve never played a game with a story this dense, layered, and emotionally resonant. Playing this game feels like reading a good book, the writing is so on point that I’m taking in every bit of quest text like I would with prose.
I’ll admit a lot of the lore s*** is confusing to me (it’s approaching kingdom hearts levels of incoherent at times IMO) but I’m getting the gist of it and loving every second of it.

I've made that comparison between Kingdom Hearts and XIV myself but I think the key difference is that lore in XIV is meaningfully used in service of narrative, character, and theme, whereas it only exists in Kingdom Hearts to further the plot and ultimately ends up feeling quite hollow.
Alright, y'all convinced me to resub this week
If I get a bad performance review on these audits though, it's on you guys
Finished Endwalker. What an uplifting finale to an incredible journey; it was everything I wanted it to be and so much more. A lot of media tackles this theme of hope versus despair (JRPGs especially), but I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a thoroughly genuine and heartfelt exploration of the idea.
Yoshida, Ishikawa, Soken and everybody else at Unit III deserve all the success. I’m looking forward to whatever else they’ve got in store for the next ten years of XIV.

Just watched the last cutscene of the Zone 5 Questline and man…
I’ve been standing in the same spot for 20 minutes. I don’t even know what to do with myself
Endwalker, man.

This is the long cutscene with Venat right? Might be one of my favourite cutscenes in the game, cant remember the exact phrasing but when she said she will force man to walk man that gave me chills

"I choose to believe. In mankind's potential. In his ability to find a way forward. So let there be no way back. From that temptation I sunder us. No more shall man have wings to bear him to paradise. Henceforth, he shall walk."
Then Answers phase 3 kicks in
