just found out that Sakaguchi (creator of FF) is playing FFXIV too and he been tweeting his whole experience as he plays the game.

Is this game worth anything if I despise MMO games/mechanics? I’ve seen people list this as a top 5 FF game and wonder what the hyped about

This is absolutely an MMO mechanically. Lots of fetching and so forth.

But the dungeons, story, writing, characters, music, and sense of adventure are all peak. It’s my favorite FF personally.

Definitely do the free trial if you want to see what the hype is about. If you can enjoy ARR, you’ll love the expansions. Can’t hurt to try
