Its 100% a real thing. The youth must always differentiate themselves from older generations and the easiest way is to dig from the past. This s*** was always destined to come back. With that said mall core or whatever has never never been it to me.
Hollister,American Eagle and Aeropostale(if that brand is still around)was never really that cool back in the day tho,it was just acceptable. So if it comes back,it'll have to be cool with school kids, cause it was never acceptable for a grown man(or woman)to rock those brands.
Really(at least at my school back then)if you came BBC/Bape/Evisu down or rocking Trues(back when they were like,$400 a pair)you were just making yourself a target. Then,if you came with some obvious JC Penny/Sears type s***,you were making yourself a target for bullying. So most kids just wore Hollister/Aeropostale because, thats what was available/accessible to them and there parents at the time.
Both brands helped kids assimilate at school, basically a non-official uniform. Long story short,GROWN MEN SHOULDN'T BE WEARING MIDDLE OF THE MALL GEAR!

how can we differentiate ourselves from older gen 🤔
let’s just wear what they wore when they were our age

Whered you grow up? I’m sure thats the case for some areas but in chicago those 3 brands were considered cool for a while grown or not. Like it was cool when I was in high school and then to see chief keef wearing the s*** when he was coning up was like damn the youth still f***s with this s*** in 2011 wtf.

It sounds dumb on the surface level but its the easiest thing to do rather than completly inventing some whole new s*** off rip as a teen. It eventually happens over time but the base style is always rooted from the past and then theyll morph it by removing what they don’t fw and adding s*** in and eventually it becomes its own thing. And with all these diff subcultures being blended by gen z I expect that 2030 style will be a completely “new” thing.

Dirty south(and not ATL,more like Tennessee-Alabama)if dudes were wearing Tru/Evisus,they were most likely fake, and you knew exactly where they got it from. The very few dudes actually rocking real gear were dope peddlers, everyone else,NPC Hollister,American Eagle andAeropostale, maybe a lil A&F here and there.
I will truly believe in this "fashion goes in cycles" saying if Hollister and American Eagle makes a real comeback
I never wore that s*** in Middle-High School, even at the peak of its popularity.
So not long till swag era comes back around

Yea same here like unless you was a real fly guy your evisus was fake and mainly cause you just didnt know not intentionally. Same with bape too all just a lack of knowledge.
real question: do ppl buy clothes and s*** cause of drake?
idk about that but he’s really stepped his style up in the past 5 years
Early 2000s Nigo was a motherfucker with this style s*** back then. If you want some style inspiration,go look at some old Nigo, not anything from the mid-late 2000s,im talking "OLD" Nigo pics

Drake swag isn't about being the influence-to-buy or a fashion icon in the moment.

you might as well ask if spring summer autumn and winter are real while you're at it!
Why that put that stupid cup s*** on top of the shoe? So I can collect rain water to bring back to the village?

I wonder if people with the j28-K still wear it
I should've pulled the trigger on red while i still had a chance

idk where you from but where im from there was def an era where Aero/Hollister/AE had a run. Im talkin about in Junior high/ Highschool for me late 2000s early 2010s. And they would mix it with the brands you named like Trues lol. Personally i wasnt wearin that s***

I guess when I say those brands were never just "cool",I mean that,I never really seen grown men wear that s*** back then lol. Older dudes were rocking alot of Polo and Trues back in the late 2000s,before the designer craze became real. Having the crazy color Levis were a thing in the streets too.
Alot of kids around my way rocked Aero, most kids preferred Hollister tho. Like I said,I never wore it,was really into streetwear/fashion myself at the time, but couldn't afford it as a kid. I was strictly Levis 511 and sports hoodies/random graphic tees, some from Wal-Mart,some from random places in the Mall but I had a few Stussy and Diamond Supply tees.
