I still get a lot out of late 80s albums by ultramagnetic mcs, epmd, and too short.

Never moved past that epmd debut but goddamn it's nice

Yeah. Few exceptions that I like

    • It Takes a Nation
    • Paul's Boutique
    • 3 Feet High and Rising
    • Paid in Full

But neither of those few are even in my top 30 hip hop i don't think

Paid in Full in my top ten

The amount of bars that got stolen off Big Daddy Kane's debut

Beware: The Funk is everywhere is awesome. Planet Rock is also great.

    80s had some heat.

It Takes a Nation of Millions
    Follow the Leader
    Criminal Minded
    Straight Outta Compton
    Critical Beatdown
    Long Live the Kane
    The Iceberg/Freedom of Speech
    Eazy Duz-It

what about some Ice T :datass:

When I listen to ‘80s hip hop I feel like I’m listening to my grandfather try to rap.

That beat in between each song

You’d love De La Soul but you can’t find their music anywhere

Gonna check the hip hop thread to see what the highest 80s album was

Would be flabbergasted if it was anyone other than PE or BB
