I'll try to check it out soon for sure! And it seems like it really flew under people's radars in general despite the hype around Haneke's previous recent stuff. Haven't seen anything written about it myself, or even many people who have seen/mentioned it

I get why many people didn't like because it represents Haneke going back to his most indecipherable films (Code Unknown, Caché, 73 Fragments, Benny's Video, Seventh Continent) while dealing with a somewhat different narrative structure than usual. It's extremely loosely told while being actually straightforward yet hijacked with any sorts of media after pretty much every "normal" scene for the first 70 minutes after it turns more into a melodrama even though there is very little melodramatic about the way the characters act.

On the other hand, I don't get why Haneke fans didn't write more about it. It's extremely detached with plenty of humor and as estranged and cold as it gets.

Haneke himself doesn't like to talk much about it either. He just shows it everywhere when he is a guest and said pretty much that he doesn't have anything to say anymore after this one and therefore doesn't plan to make a new film anytime soon.

wait did you watch it ? I could care less about the "visual" directors but this joint here is one hellova trip.

An attempt was made. The song about derrier's had me howling but after that I just wanted to punch my own face repeatedly.

Lil B doesn’t release long tapes cuz it’s funny he releases long tapes cuz he works at such a rate that he can release 100 track tapes bimonthly and they still be quality. plus there are multiple shorter Lil B releases: both Illusions of Grandeur, Gold House, Trapped in Basedworld, Rich After Taxes, Basedgodvelli, Silent President, I’m Gay all under 1 hour long

    This is a silly delusion

Dune is so inpenetrable I don't know how he can film it for a wide audience without pissing off fans or turning off the casuals. I definitely think he's gonna lean more towards the nerds but I doubt he'll have the same camp and personality as Lynch had.

Listened to that Damien Rice album Arel recommend and it was a really pleasant record that’s basically just Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, and Jeff Buckley worship. However I can tell it inspired some of the worst modern singer songwriters.

Try Exotica. That one's pretty great and experimental in the way it plays with narrative.
