k u gotta admit that the 5+ hour ones are a bit ridiculous

ridiculous but still greatness
he obviously just did hard drive wipes with those ones lol doesn’t mean there’s not a ton of quality tracks on each one. Lil B has proven that most of the time, he’s dedicated to providing as many tracks in as many of his styles as possible on each tape, likely to appeal to as many fans as possible. you gotta respect the dedication

yea but those long ass tapes make it hard for people to get into him
especially with his meme reputation, but I don't doubt he has great music, just don't wanna spend too much time on one single artist
Who the f*** is that with Rock in your avi
It's the guy who was narrating/playing the role of Rock in Rappaport's film Rock Hudson's Home Movies

What do you think of the new Midwife album?

Only listened in full once! Gotta give it a few more before I can give an answer
right haha all that "mind f***" s*** aint nothing compared to De Forbidden Room

I can't believe you could sit through 2 hours of this but not Faust which is literally the most badass thing
Nah looked like something I would be allergic to
Was more thinking more artsy foreign s*** like Holy Motors, Zama and Pigeon Sat On A Branch
Christian Petzold: Barbara, Phoenix, Transit
Arnaud Desplechin: Ismael's Ghost
Nuri Bilge Ceylan: Once upon a time in Anatolia, Winter Sleep
Miguel Gomes: Tabu, Arabian Nights
Alice Rohrwacher: The Wonders, Happy as Lazarro
Andrei Zvjagintsev: Leviathan, Loveless
Sergei Loznitsa: My Joy, In the Fog, Donbass
Joachim Trier: Thelma (maybe Oslo 31st August but that's not as artsy) or Blind by his fellow cowriter Eskil Vogt.
Aleksandr Sokurov: Faust, Francofonia
Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi: The Tribe
Radu Jude: Aferim (a bit like a Kusturica western.)
Valeska Grisebach: Western
Michael Haneke: Happy End (makes mostly really sense if you've seen the majority of Haneke's other work. Otherwise it can be really tough to get into. hilarious af tho)
yea but those long ass tapes make it hard for people to get into him
especially with his meme reputation, but I don't doubt he has great music, just don't wanna spend too much time on one single artist
oh yeah i def feel you, but he does have multiple ~40-50 minute tapes which might be better introductions to his discog. you should peep Basedgodvelli! one of B’s most restrained, technical tapes right there and it’s only 40 minutes.
there’s also Angels Exodus which is real bar heavy and comes out at 39 mins.

I need your take on Happy End. I've rarely encountered a film that left me this puzzled tbh. Even after endless rewatches I might have understood most metaphors and the general allegory but it still feels like a nut to crack every time. Due to the lukewarm reception, perhaps due to White Ribbon and Amour being such crowdpleasers respectively, there is also very little critical evaluation of the film when compared to his other films.

I'll try to check it out soon for sure! And it seems like it really flew under people's radars in general despite the hype around Haneke's previous recent stuff. Haven't seen anything written about it myself, or even many people who have seen/mentioned it
