I told y'all i started longshoring waited 8 years for them to f***ing finally get to my application

Had to give up the film set production job which pains me deeply but the rates are insane and my commute is 10 minutes instead of like 90 minutes.

92 bucks an hour for evening shift on the weekend

Yeah sounds worth af and fun tbh but it probably breaks your body if you do it in the long run

There's about 200 different jobs down there and you can pick what you wanna do once you get some seniority. Could be a pen pusher in the office by the time I'm 60 if I wanna

Also you get to go home when hour task is finished so we went home 3 hours early last night but still got paid for 9

Longshore union has the economy by the balls so the rates and benefits etc are ridiculous.

I'd rather still be working on film sets, but I had to be realistic. All my friends in film said the industry is like an abusive relationship and it's fun at times but then the lulls in between projecs drain your bank account and you just get f***ed in the long run. They all urged me to pursue this.
