Still remember the anticipation
Getting that new issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly and laying eyes km that 10/10/10 score
It's a masterpiece of atmosphere, detail, story and lore
Think you'd dig Death Stranding btw
Slow burn exploration/atmospheric game with a bugged out Kojima story

@branmalt @drjdeponytail @Koala
Yall got any recs for other bands that would fit in this playlist that i should check out
Been shuffling a big playlist over the past few months of 2010s & 2020s pop punk/post-hardcore that has a bunch of diff sounds (along with whatever the name for the "neo-grunge" stuff is). Some examples of groups on it are:
• Knuckle Puck
• Title Fight & Glitterer
• Ben Quad — thank you @gbluecheez
• Snowing
• The Story So Far
• Modern Baseball
• Bilmuri
• Diarrhea Planet
• Treaty Oak Revival
• The Hotelier
• Narrow Head
• Hot Mulligan
• Whiskey Myers
• Modern Color
• Soul Blind

Finally downloaded it last year. Was so glad i did. Was never a big MGS/Kojima game fan just cause those werent the type of games i tended to play growing up, but Death Stranding looked really interesting to me since it was announced. Didn't disappoint.
Such a great vibe out game. I was expecting to enjoy the gameplay's slow burn, but i wasnt expecting it to put me in the same kind of flow state that stuff like Gungeon or Hades does. They are totally different kinds of games but mine brain reacts to them in very similar ways

I love how groovy it is and then they throw in that sick modulated synth to crank the song in new direction
Finally finished that East of Eden, idk where it would land on my all time favs but man the story felt heavy. By the end is was catharsis

I know, it just sucks you in. After finishing the story in the first one I spent like another 20 hours just messing around in the world building s*** and making deliveries. It's all so addicting and satisfying.
It even Dunkey got to backtrack on his original burn review

At least he didn’t call it Grapes of Death
I just started The Last Action Heroes by Nick De Semlyen. It delves into the 80s action stars and their relationships with each other

That sounds dope, the 80’s was such a special decade
Think imma start Train Dreams, I know the film got some traction awhile ago. Denis Johnson becoming one of my fav authors

I missed out on so many classics because of how bad my HS experience was. The teachers had zero dedication and would just drill state tests into us. I’m sure the education system has changed for the better

Yeah I still need to peep that movie. What’s your favorite Denis Johnson book?

Well I started with his final book, The Largesse of the Sea Maiden. I love short stories and it was a nice send off considering he died shortly after.
I also read his first called Angels which was a nasty 70’s crime deal. Really good but his writing only got better.
Jesus Son is his most popular and acclaimed but probably my least fav, idk I was going through some s*** myself so maybe my mind wasn’t totally into it. I’d recommend any of them

This is nuts, one of my best mates messaged me the same thing yesterday. I must have been recommending it pretty hard for a while

Elia Kazan
yeah OBAA is great
didn't expect PTA to craft a straight-up action film
also, it's far left-leaning politically. More so than some commies might want to admit
the cyclone b reference was unnecessary tho and the aftermath could've been wrapped up a little quicker

As someone who slaved working retail I can appreciate this guy, the dedication is admirable. What's crazy is how older some of these 70's/80's guys look
