Bizzle this is lame af tbh who cares about what some c*** cares about an album

It's cool if we share opinions and s*** here cause it's actual discussion but some rando's opinion should mean nothing

It's not lame to enjoy good pieces of writing about things that interest you lol, come on man.

I don't care whether anyone else likes an album or not but I've discovered so much music specifically from reading an interesting piece about it. And I love reading well written stuff about literally anything. Suzuki just mentioned stereogum and they often do really good anniversary pieces on albums that are always worth reading

Yeah I've got stacks of books from renown critics and their takes can be illuminating. Obviously the deeper you get, the more you form your own opinions but it's still interesting if they're good writers.

Yeah Eggers can't do fight scenes, or much physical s*** to begin with. You notice all his direction plays out like a play. People just standing around and monologuing.

    Lily Depp popped off.

this movie sucked ass he really fell off after lighthouse imo.

i think the main issue was they marketed it like it was gladiator or some s*** but it was mainly boring talking in that village

Doesn't matter how it was marketed (I didn't even watch a trailer). s*** was just not good. Nosferatu was a major return to form and might be his masterpiece though so all good.

I didnt like nosferatu much either im tired of that story seen/read it too many times

  • Im excited for his next one though he does best when its historical type s*** with weird old sounding english. There wasnt enough weird archaic dialogue in his last 2 imo

Baas is my fav Eno and I might've agreed with this many, many years ago, but the most recently released remaster on vinyl really accentuates the rhythmic/structural complexity of tracks like "No One Receiving" and "Kurt's Rejoinder", while "Backwater" and "King's Lead Heat" I've always viewed as Eno's attempt at making a slightly demented, but still rocking form of rock and roll. Then obviously the second side is just pure bliss

And edit: obviously I think both sides are stronger than any Bowie records but that's probably without saying for me

Double edit: how you gonna compliment the second side of BAAS and not even mention the Godly "Spider and I"

I like the first half because of that (and the insanely catchy melodies) but overall it doesn't really match Low or Heroes. Low in particular is perfectly construed and almost feels like one big suite. I guess my favorite Eno would be either Taking Tiger Mountain or Another Green World. Airports is also fantastic but I rarely listen to it.

Spider and I is also fantastic but I wouldn't put it in my Eno Top 10. Maybe Top 20.
