    yeah the the whole Anakin going to the dark side/Palpatine being a Sith arc was portrayed way too transparently. like they all knew he was dangerous when he was like 7, padme knew he killed a bunch of sand people kids can y'all stop acting suprised

    I think that’s the classic thing of the Jedi being very traditional and being absorbed in their ways and their prophecies

    They were sure that despite all those things, their ways would prevail and Anakin would make positive change

    Ian McDiarmid was amazing as Palpatine though, surprised ive never seen him anything else that I can think of.

    funny how he was like 33 when he first played Palpatine and they had to put old man makeup on him, then decades later he was old enough to play the same role without (for the most part)

    I still think Hayden is pretty fantastic in the role

    Yeah the dialogue is atrocious at times but he is extremely fantastic at truly conveying the young man with mommy issues look. It’s a very theatric performance no doubt but the way he can physically convey at every turn the gradual transition he makes from a lost boy of sadness and confusion to a resentful and angry fascistic psychopath is one of the best performances I’ve seen of that caliber

    Yeah he's awesome. I think he's predominantly a stage actor

    casting in the prequels was pretty spot on imo. The faults really lie in the script

    ive definitely accused him of being a weirdo misogynist a bunch of times over the years. as koala said hes got some interesting/honest takes but man

    a bunch of "why would I respect women" talk is why he got muted last week. "arguing with the white knights" he called it
