Finally listened to Ice-T's OG Original Gangster and I can't decide if it's extremely clever tongue in cheek gangsta rap or just sheer ignorance. Either way, the production really stands out.
Probably both but I love Ice T as a narrator and his character in Law & Order SVU

Classic

super underrated: Pete rock and CL Smooth - Mecca and the Soul Brother. Might make my top 25

its great.
i definitely wouldnt say sheer ignorance, especially that album definitely has the political bent on some songs which makes the gangster songs have a different feeling
also some really good songs on his first 2 albums and ofc the best one OG Original Gangster
all his albums got a few weaker songs though, definitely dont think any approach masterpiece status but his overall career highlights are awesome

5. Eric B & Rakim - Paid In Full

guy has loads of charisma and is a good storyteller but I get you. I guess it's kinda both. Oh yeah, he production on this album is fantastic. The drums in particular.
Try Power too. It has less scope but is more concise.
trying not to put two Ye albums in the Top 10 but it's very difficult

It's in the rules not to though

@Elric RIP Lô Borges
Damn, I haven't listened to this in ages. Rest in peace.
Right haha like I get it for a washed/retired fighter and the entertainment value. But Tank is a current champ. Dude made a comment about not caring anymore so maybe it’s all about the money
Could you imagine if Jake Paul won
Read the rules
it's not a Kanye rule if you think I'm being unfair
You know how I feel about rules
Just ruling ourselves into a list that doesn't actually represent our tastes is so weird to me

You're the only one who complains about them though. The rules aren't even that stringent. Sorry if I think it's boring to vote 7 Kanye albums in the top 10.
Last time I made an outright Kanye rule and he still finished #5, 8, 11, 15. I doubt it will have that much of an effect if you're worried about poor little Ye being underrepresented in the final vote

I don't want to but I should be allowed to if i wanna

I'm not worried about that, I just don't want to have to observe arbitrary rules when I come up with a list
