Used to love them a lot more than i do now. Used to be a blur over oasis guy. (Probably because i am an upper middle class guy from london)
I still love parklife and country house and 13 is a good album, but i never really clicked with their "we wanna be weird and respected by american rock critics like radiohead phase" and im taking oasis, suede and many other bands over them these days
They were never better than in 94-96. I like plastic beach and demon days more than i like any blur record post country house tbh
good band but I find some of their songs kinda tedious. the only albums I listen to start to finish is 13 and sometimes their s/t
I think my fav songs by them are bugman, charmless man, the universal, death of a party, you’re so great
Their best songs to me are parklife, country house, universal, end of a century, this is a low, charmless man
So i like their lad era stuff is what im saying lol, and as damon said earlier this summer, "oasis won the battle the war etc"

They're pretty annoying and To The End is their only great song
also I would put them fourth out of the big 4 of britpop
I probably would too which is a crazy thing to me 10 years ago when they were easily my favorite, but i think now that was just tribalism
Im fully on oasis are the voice of the people one of the great rock bands of all time, perhaps the last great rock and rollers bandwagon
But i do love suede a lot

Came out in '74
been in rotation all year
They're pretty annoying and To The End is their only great song
interesting
guess they didnt nail the Kinks sons thing for you
My dad used to say get beyonce and jennifer hudson make a broadway musical of caught up by millie jackson you would print money wonder why they havent done it
Now that i brought up suede, i do think they peaked with animal nitrate and i like debut and coming up more than dog man star and think generally their best form is populist pub singalongs
Unrelated, im reading this reynolds book about post punk and gave bollocks the first serious listen since i was like 13
