I just saw Shrek 1 in theaters. I can appreciate the "men need to be open with their feelings" message now that I'm older but I was not hearing it when I was younger
yeah idk I think Donkey is just too annoying for me
you got me thinking and contenders for best needle drop of my gen are mostly Wes I cant even lie;
Van Morrison - Everyone, at the end of Royal Tenenbaums
Nico - These Days in RT
Heroes & Villains in Mr Fox
Kinks - Strangers in Darjeeling
but also;
Ball Of Confusion in Tropic Thunder
Can and Neil Young in Inherent Vice
Jefferson Airplanes Today and Coming Back To Me in Serious Man
also Hendrix Machine Gun
The Condition my Condition Is In Lebowski too obv
True.
But it got some real gems on it thank god. I was worried after a couple listens that it was gonna be a stinker. But most of it has grown on me hard now
yeah for sure still a pretty great album. but i think of his last 3 its the one that benefits the most by cutting like a dozen songs. had the potential to be the strongest thematically at least but that got diluted too much
Nice

Doors cover is a grower. Have to remove yourself from familiarity with the Doors version and treat it like its own thing entirely.

You should check out the album Phil Spector produced for Tina Turner. It's like the 60s version of this.
F*** it I just spent an arm and a leg to get Mint Original Sin vinyl on discogs. Life's too short to not splurge stupidly sometimes and it's one of my top 5 albums ever.

River Deep - Mountain High
Beware of the songs that Ike forced on there though. Spector only produced half the album and had to bribe Ike to f*** off from the session so he could have focused Tina to himself.

Damn so are the Ike songs kinda ass? Or good but don't hold up at all to the Spector songs?
