all good to have favorites but gotta stop you right there buddy bode is probably the most significant menswear brand in the world right now if we're not counting famous luxury brands. not everything they make is wearable but there highs are absolutely insane.

i see story mfg somewhat justified pricing. Most clothing pieces I own are around 200 dollars but it's not a terrible investment if you know you'll wear it for the next 10-20 years because it's sustainable/high quality. Imo fast fashion is much worse investment if you're buying like 20-30 items a year that you'll throw out after a year or will fall apart on you. (I have a shirt from Zara that's broken on me like 5 timses. beautiful pattern but keep having to get it fixed.) I just focus on buying like 10-12 quality pieces per year and over 10 years you build up a really nice wardrobe.

Then there are the very rare and great brands like Uniqlo U (the christophe Lemaire collab) which are very affordable and terrific quality relative to the price

okay agree to disagree, I think Bode does it better than anyone though I'll admit their pieces from 2-3 years ago were more impressive/wearable. I could post some truly life-changing pieces from them but too lazy atm.

Emily puts out a bit to much clothing which is why some of it is really out there (and ugly af as you say) but she kinda has to since all of it is basically one-of-one pieces.

even their new collections have some really beautiful pieces but yeah not quite like it used to be. the tailoring is still masterful though

Story MFG is the only brand i’ve bought from at that price range lol like $600 for one of my sweaters and $350 for pants (both were on sale) but i’ve got 5 pieces from them now and they’re just obviously such high quality i can’t rly regret what i spent

Yeah I never buy fast fashion and I like spending money on cool brands like that, just story mfg stuff is always a slight level above what I'm willing to pay. Like £300-£400 for a shirt and I never see it pop up in many sales here.

Uniqlo U is nice but the last couple years of it have bored me a bit

I like supporting independent UK brands if I can, there's some good ones out there. Lorenz is probably my favourite at the moment just cause they know how to have fun.
