A24 has some cool stuff for sure, don't get me wrong, but the smaller non marvel-tier films coming out from other countries far surpass the A24 stuff. If so called 'film-heads' would only look beyond American Cinema... so much to discover.
Yeah Burning > 95% of A24 output but most of that fanbase wouldn’t watch that

Burning
and so many others my friend...
Speaking of I really need to check out that new Koreeda film. Hear it's his best in years. Anyone got an HD rip?

btw you should check out the short story by Murakami that Burning was based of. It's a nice quick read.
the witch, good time, minari, under the skin, etc. all great films but that cult needs to chill. just get a subscription to the criterion channel
Criterion is kinda the same thing tho, whenever anyone uses one source as the bible to whatever is lame. Funny thing is a lot of those “film heads” don’t even dig deep into American films either.

I know I know, but Criterion has like 1000+ films on it. Not trying to venerate Criterion as a sacred source of film, but it really has so much great stuff from all countries, America included.
My Criterion Channel subscription is the best investment I've made tbh. Especially since a good portion of that money I spend on the subscription goes towards restoring old films. It's a win win.
@Koala just looked it up and criterion has 512 American films

I love Burning.

I hear ya lol i was just remembering old film head threads like it’s not criterion it’s just this site or that site
anything to get people into film is a win

Amen. Too many of these new hipsters don’t give a s*** about our own independent canon outside of whatever makes the AFI list or some s***.
