Not to bring up Radiohead again, but after rewatching Lost Highway I kept thinking about the song Exit Music (For a Film). I know it was written specifically for that Baz Luhrmann Romeo x Juliet movie, but I feel like it would have fit perfectly in Lost Highway. Also OK Computer released the same year so it could have been possible.
@drjdeponytail i slept on little green house, reminds me of floral green title fight mixed with proper dose story so far
I played this this album to death last year, love it
Trump was his own worst enemy which is why he didn't get the 2nd term
Yea definitely and strangely enough even from a marketing/promo standpoint. If he made masks during the Covid hype that said “MAGA” etc people would have worn them.
He also was a democrat before so basically just another celebrity personality. Nobody thought he was actually gonna win

Great record, More Than a Letter was one of my favorite songs of last year
I think the broader culture has sort of relaxed a bit. People have a sense of humor again and art/media isn’t as insufferably condescending. I’m just worried the next right wing candidate will be an actual dangerous fascist and then we’ll be back to 2017 hysteria x10. Naturally in that scenario I’d be more worried about the real material consequences of that more so than what annoying things are going on in art as a response to it, but still it’ll be both a scary time to be alive and a much more difficult one to seek entertaining distraction from.
A few of these Governor’s are fascists in the making

love how the majority of old Yugoslavia says Albania. Things that will never change.
Weird self-owns by Belarus and Turkey.

I checked out the new JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown project and it’s definitely good, but not much of it is very memorable. Maybe this is cause I haven’t kept up with the genre since like 2017, but most modern rap that ends up on my radar are these like short projects with what feels like a bunch of unfinished audio sketches filled with interesting experimental production but with vocals that are mixed in a such a way where you can’t make much of them out. I’ve heard a lot of this stuff get lumped together into what’s referred to as “alt rap”, but maybe “post rap” would be more appropriate. It doesn’t seem to serve the same function as traditional hip-hop. There’s not enough to latch onto.

listen to it on lower volume tbh. First time I listened was on headphones and it felt way too chaotic for me but the structures are actually relatively accessible once it doesn't jump all in your face.
I personally think it's Danny's best project since Old and maybe on par with LP! (likely a little lower tho).

You like it more than Atrocity Exhibition?
Wild
Atrocity isn't my fav Danny project by any means tbh. It has a few killer tracks tho which are better than anything on here.

Yeah I was gonna say. This makes sense though.
Also while I find him pretty funny when I can make out what he’s saying—I’ve never liked JPEG’s delivery and general presence.
So much rap is just a dude talking about how cool he thinks he is. It's all pretty gay tbh
Gimme the female rappers at least they're fun

Lmao
Listening to that Billy Bragg & Wilco album Mermaid Avenue. Pretty great.
Edit: Jusf realized I jumped from one collaboration album to another. It was already what I was planning on checking out so it’s a weird coincidence.

Yeah I've never really been able to get into jpeg. The joint project with Danny is cool though
