yeah i noticed modern country (since the 90s) has basically absorbed a lot of rock. what is would have been called country rock back in the 70s is now just country.
I gotta put you on to the young goat Zach Bryan then. writes songs at the pace of springsteen and became one of the biggest country stars despite not being part of the nashville machine. im seeing his arena tour in August. fervent fanbase of people that know every lyric too
he dropped 2022 AOTY with a sprawling emotional 2 hour exploration of americana styles. cracked the billboard top 10 pop chart with a drumless country folk song
