Wyatt one of the GOATs of the 70s. guy managed to make his very own brand of prog wihout all these grandeur gestures present in Yes, Genesis or Pink Floyd, etc. (not knocking them but that's become the stereotype of the genre) that also hasn't been copied to death.

It takes too much work to copy him, he’s too unique

I thought that as well until I drove into Caravan and I realized that's just what Canterbury bands sounded like. RVI had to convince me this wasn't Wyatt on vocals. Still very unique but to that scene more than just him.

@Koala Blazers blew a 25 point lead to the Lakers of all teams Lillard too loyal man. this Blazers team is a mess.

Total agree, loyalty is one thing but clearly winning a chip aint happening in Portland. The team reached its peak years ago. I would hate to put Dame in that Beal category because he's had some amazing performances it seems like he just cares more about the bag than anything.

Not a single Portland fan would fault him for leaving either. I don't think he has a 2011 Dallas run in him

I'm not even sure if I would call it prog cause it's on such a different wavelength than everything else under that umbrella. Prog songs usually... progress toward a climax or bridge but Wyatt's songs just regress deeper into his psyche as they go along or something. It's more reeg than prog.

its definitely 100% prog its just not symphonic prog

also you know something is definitely prog when even the most curmudgeonly old proghead geezers treat him as a god

"WYATT is one of the great musicians focused upon in Prog Archives and every proghead should investigate his oeuvre."

it is still distinct from most of the other stuff which is why im not surprised you like it. i also found Wyatt himself to be very distinct even amongst all the canterbury peers. especially as his careeer moves along, it feels a little weird to call his later albums "canterbury scene" so its just some weird kinda avant-garde, slightly jazzy/ambient singer-songwritery prog

he does feel a lot more Eno-esque in the unique world building. also shoutout to Eno for being on a lot of his albums

Yeah I was like 20 when I realized I couldn't understand any dialogue during action/war movies, compounded when anybody had an accent

I blame Altman as much as they're blaming technology tbh
