Impressive that Eminem managed to make 6 bad albums in a row (I did not listen to his last album so it could be 7). Personally I think it takes a certain level of dedication and stubbornness to continue to release absolute garbage for almost 20 years straight.
And Dylan and Al Pacino got like 20 s***ty projects under their belt but they're still remembered as legends. People remember the good stuff.
He's still selling millions though I doubt he gives a f***
Facts, I was only taking artistic merit into account and not the millions he was raking in from Nate Ruess and Pink features

I've not listened to the entire expansive discography of My. Zimmerman but I've always thought the consensus was that he always followed up the rough patches with a string of great albums. Also, I'd put Dylan's classics in a tier far ahead of Eminem's best album personally so for me it's a clear bias. 80 year old Dylan made a great album just a couple years ago. That is something I will not expect from Eminem
Dylan has 30 years on Eminem so that's an odd comparison. Kozelek's been around since the 90s and I'd argue he never made a bad album with Red House Painters and has been over 50% on the SKM stuff. Eminem is just bad and has been for like 70% of his career.

Perhaps, but a lot of people would disagree. I don't think Dylan's made a classic album since the 60s. Everthing since then has been mediocre to kinda cool.

Like I said it's about the legacy he made when he was super hot. Dylan was in this Eminem mediocre phase for like 40 years
. Longer than he was a legend. That's just how s*** rolls.

I'm not as big on the stuff I've heard outside the 60s too but IMO kinda cool is still way better than 70% of Eminem's post-prime. Nobody should be expected to always be at the top of their game and I truly believe we should always judge artists by their best work. At a certain point, a long string of mediocrity to pure garbage has to count for some type of hit on your discography, no matter how good SSLP and MMLP are.

Pacino after Heat is just a victory lap

I think you just have a weird anger against Eminem. This pattern isnt unique to him.

70% is just wrong

40 years?!?!? ok you are tripping brother. Like I said, I've jumped around in Dylan's discog, and can at least find a 'good' album in 4 different decades that aren't his classic 60s.

That's a matter of opinion. People think its corn but I think Rap God is cool for what it is. I also dig Recovery, etc.
Meanwhile Dylan has like, hours and hours worth of bullshit albums.
I have never heard a bad Nick Cave album and he has been around 40 years. Some artists are just built different.

Neurosis and Aphex were the closest to "geezers" that I still check out new s*** from

why are you doing this
defending Rap God to s*** on a bunch of Dylan you've never given a proper listen to
