Honestly really hard to say. I think I’m sticking with Big Thief’s new album, but there’s been so many good new releases. That Alvvays record is growing on me. I really adore both Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen’s newest albums.
Also Prince Daddy & The Hyena, Beach House, Lupe Fiasco, The Smile, Black Country New Road, Earl Sweatshirt, Animal Collective, First Aid Kit, Kiwi Jr, and Alex G all put out good albums this year.

Yeah her song All The Flowers off the new album might be my favorite of the year. It’s fairly simple and familiar sounding, but it’s just so beautifully executed. There’s something about that melody that’s transcendent.

but it worksYeah it reminds of sounds from the late 90’s/early 00’s but like repackaged with like a more modern indie quality. They also have a really perfect Gwen Stefani cover on the album that took me by surprise.

Yeah Shanes has a masterly level of control now as far as jokes that build up and shatter expectations over and over and I hope he gets another shot.
His shot will be on his own terms. You can be on SNL and make great stand up
