John Oliver never had any kind of success here so he's only annoying for me when we I see little clips pop up on twitter and think "oh this f***ing guy again". Most people here probably haven't got a clue who he is

I was howling at some parts of Banshees of Inisherin but wouldn't call it an outright comedy

I think maybe great comedy is a lot harder to pull off as a consistent product than other genres. And you can have a lot of amazing comedians running around but it takes a certain sort of visionary to pull off a classic comedy with them. Even back in day you had your Norman McLeod and Leo McCareys.
