@Koala @drjdeponytail it'll always be f*** the Celtics, but I can't deny how good Tatum is
The main problem is the entire thing conflates opinion with fact. He names a bunch of ppl who do things “better” than The Beatles and it’s like
a lot of straight up verifiably false claims too iirc
Like what? Lol
havent read it in forever but just went there and saw "it had no technical innovations"

The only Beatles shade I wanna hear is from other musicians who have made classic music in their own right otherwise

I'm also pretty sure he made-up the 'several international awards' part about his own essay

They’re going to the Finals

lmfaoooo
troll legend

Game 7, anything can happen. Remember BK was 1 less shoe size away from from Conference Finals last year. I still believe in Giannis.
Enough to write it off as sheer edge
“They couldn’t write songs as well as Ray Davies or arrange harmonies as well as The Beach Boys” was edgy enough. Reads like s***posting.

He contradicts his own statement about their lack of innovation with his own scores. 7/10 is good but I assume scruffi would rather give George Martin the credit than the actual Beatles

Both those statements are correct though

To be fair I think probably only the Everly Brothers could arrange harmonies as well as the Beach Boys
Both those statements are correct though
I was thinking this is not the best example lol
Also Lennon said he wished the Beatles could sing harmonies as well as The Kinks :elon: I don't think he knew they were kind of cheating with Rays wife helping hit the high notes

its acceptable but acting like they suck because they didnt write as good as one of the goat writers or arrange harmonies as good as one of the goat harmony arrangers is just weird. like hes just saying "beatles were the most popular and these other goats were better at something, therefore beatles suck"

The way he refuses to acknowledge the fact that the Beatles absolutely dominated from 1962 to 65 and saved the sixties from getting taken over by pop and R&B is annoying

Yea one hellova performance, Tatum has been a stud since day one too.
I'm also pretty sure he made-up the 'several international awards' part about his own essay
That rules. Lol dudes just hyping himself up.

“Saved”
:word:

Rappers do it all the time. Literal wrestling s***.
Both those statements are correct though
When folks praise an athlete as a great overall player, saying that this guy does x better or that guy does y better makes you sound silly.

That’s another thing I never understood about his critiques. Him acting as if studio “trickery” as he puts it somehow takes away from the quality of the finished piece. It’s the same weird argument towards a film when they’ll say “it was saved in editing”. It’s like that’s how movies work lol.
