The one moment that surprised me was when the old lady went flying from shotgun recoil
amazing
Yeah I laughed pretty hard at that.

Excellent stunt work
But yeah the film might have worked for me if they cast actual old people

I think the point was to use the same actress to further the theme of mortality. Mia Goth is the one in the old makeup. It’s like a morbid reflection of herself.

Ah I didn't realize it was her lol. I see the angle now. Fitting that it has a bit of a Persona aspect cause like Liv Ullman she's has one of those faces I'm really not trying to look at.

Yeah I think Liv Ullman and Mia Goth are hot tbh. They do have a unique look though that I can see not working for everybody.
@HeyFella i still gotta watch that X movie, think i only watched kaiju films and The Batman last month

I can’t tell if you’ll dig it or not. I’d still highly recommend it.

what’s it like? you know i love slashers. my fav horror films are The Strangers, Halloween, Shining, Texas Chainsaw, with the last spot being a toss up between Rosemary’s Baby and The House That Jack Built

I try to explain it in my review without spoiling anything really.

I’d say best way to sum it up would be Brian De Palma’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre but remove the chainsaw and replace it with existential dread over mortality. It’s sleazy, blunt but clever, and self aware but plays itself straight. Like a lot of good horror from the era it’s emulating it’s trying to tackle the relationship between s***and violence. It’s like the anti-A24 horror movie.

Heavy brow and lack of discernable eyebrows makes them both look oddly weird and unattractive to me (compounded by the fact that Bergman ditched the rest of his stable of babes for Liv)
I could gaze upon Bibi all day
No more movie talk with you. Might as well be speaking to a Martian. Love you man but damn.
@rise_zero @Koala @Riffwanker y’all should check this movie out. you’re normal when it comes to horror.
I still say one of my fav horror flicks from last decade is The Void :datass: Those dudes need to make a new joint already. S*** was like Doom meets Hellraiser meets The Thing

Harriet Anderson, Ingrid Thulin, Gunnel Lindblom
beautys
been going through 70s on and off. there are so many records ive been like...yea this is obviously top 10 of the decade...way more than 10
Gotta say I'm kinda disappointed by the new Lets Eat Grandma album. Too many ballads not enough bangers
I’m digging it heavy actually, levitation is
Visions and Unlock It are odd picks for the set to me tho, especially from their albums. I'd kill to hear Tears, Porsche, Out of My Head, Track 10, Lucky, 7 Years, Forever, Anthems, or Claws live. (Could say the same with 1999, switch it with one of several others from that album, but its a nice little jam so whatever.)
But listening to setlist in order, it really sounds weird to end the show with "Good Ones". The final four song act in general seems like a grab bag. Maybe it'll come off better live tho. I'm hoping she does an encore or something, haven't looked to see if that's happened
Setlist was a little disappointing when I saw her in boston a week or two ago. I have come around to the crash songs a lot but I was definitely hoping for more songs from HIFN. Esp anthems cause that is the perfect song for a post covid show.
Show was still stellar though. Had a blast and all my pals were rolling except for me
which was funny

I'm liking it a bit more after a few listens tbf. Still there's nothing on it touching the best songs from I'm All Ears

Nothing can touch donnie darko tbh
I don't know but I feel like Shining, Rosemary's Baby, VVitch, Texas Chainsaw and Suspiria is probably pretty close to the same top 5 as yours
Grim moody 70s horror is some of my favorite stuff yeah

I think you’d dig The Blood on Satan’s Claw
