He's back at it again

This reads like a 6/10 but Scruffy hates Ye so it makes sense. Everybody knows Yeezus and Donda don't deserve the same score as ye and jik
Never given a tip higher than 15% in my life
These guys don't understand the cost of living and weakness of our dollar up here

I agree that Ye's 10s output is overrated but it's also funny how someone he himself gave, among only a few others, the best ratings of the entire genre is simultaneously "one of the most overrated artists in hip hop history."
however, I also agree with you that giving Yeezus and Ye the same rating makes zero sense.
its kinda funny how MJ stans on here still just discuss sales and popularity so much. like its cool if theyd just want to talk about the music itself which they love but any thread i enter about MJ people are obsessing over popularity acting like it makes you the best

Relistened to Thriller today. The gap of quality between the middle portion and the rest is very noticeable.
Then again, it was hard to distinguish the music from all the surroundings (music video, the songs themselves being so ingrained in culture etc., the entire hype surrounding him being such a huge pop star). That's definitely an extra layer that comes with the experience.

Comes with the territory for those kinds of pop-culture icon artists. 6 years ago i would pick fights with users posting that s***
revisiting the songs of the velvet undeground archival album Another View for the first time in a while. didnt remember it being this bad

I do know the French Canadians that come down here are notoriously cheap tippers. Like its been that way forever.
And they wear bathing suit trunks everywhere

The fact that it rhymes so well with filler

Off the Wall got nothing but hits
His best record

He called Ye the most overrated artist of the 2010s on his best rock albums of all time page so yea, it's very strong.

Man In The Mirror is for some reason my favorite MJ song atm. Black Or White is definitely up there too tho
the girl is mine
I like it but is it really on par with Thriller, Beat It or Billie Jean?

I mean, as late as 2016, he was writing "Kendrick lacks the poetic depth of Kanye West" but now he's one of the most overrated artists of his era? I do wonder if he's referring strictly to post MBDTF Kanye which would be 'this era' but it's all connected close enough.
I also think you're mistaking your personal disdain for Yeezus' acclaim to '10s Kanye being overrated', cause MBDTF is rightfully heralded as one of the best of the decade, TLOP gets mostly decent to good but not great praise, while there a few extremes on both sides, and both ye and JiK got panned from fans and critics. I wouldn't say he's was overrated this decade and his drop in acclaim from critics and fans support that... you sure its not just Yeezus you think is overrated?
Amy Adams and Stephen Schwartz really went off on this

now THAT is some haterade
He writes that yet his Kanye ratings from 2004-2011 are still among the most consistent and is still the only rap artist he's given 7.5 to twice
