that’s the thing, it’s not THAT hard a job and i don’t want those mfs in there slaving to serve food lmaooo like i don’t care how hard they try. as long as my server is communicative, polite, and not obviously dragging complete ass then i’m as happy as can be
it not THAT hard a job but considering how expensive a goddamn meal can be these days
i expect them to be as polite and on the ball as i am at my job
I would if me or my husband ever carried cash on us. 99% of the time if we have cash in our wallets, then it's like 3 one dollar bills, or like a hundred bill, so we rarely ever tip cash haha
yeah well your hubby is rich so hes not stressing about paying tax on a tip

Are tips in Canada taxed?
Every restaurant i've ever gone to here brings you the bill, then you give them payment for the food/etc, and they bring back a receipt that says sometuing like:
Subtotal: XXX
Tax: XXX
Total: XXX
Tip: __
Total: __
So you pay taxes on the bill before you tip

Damn thats lame.
Thing is my town is now flooded with rich people which is has tripled rent so I'm going to assume they're all tipping better than I am since I'm one of the few people actually from this town left in this town, struggling to keep up

20% standard. And if the one's place in the bill total is a 7, 8, or 9, the I do like 22%
10-15% if the server is rude/really s***ty

Now I went to a restaurant for a pickup and the girl looked at me and said "no tip ?" She did not get one for just handing me the bag. Especially since they took away curbside pickup where I always threw a couple bucks in.
I always tip 20%
How bout that congress woman in Philly who voted to defund the police but got carjacked at gunpoint a couple days ago. Now she wants more police

Mandela effect hitting me and my moms boyfriend hard. We were both convinced I Want You To Want Me by Cheap Trick was a cover of a 60’s pop song.

Ah yeah i usually tip like 12%-15% for a pickup order depending on the bill total, because restaurants will often split their tip-outs among the wait staff, busboys, and line cooks — not just the servers. So i always tip on pickups just in case it goes towards the kitchen staff's income

I dont remember ever thinking CT was covering a 60s song. I know cheap trick's later live version is the one that actually became a hit. And its been covered by a bunch of people, and new versions for movie soundtracks over the past 40 years. Maybe that's causing the confusion?
The Lamar "Factor"
Hey dude out of curiosity how much do you tip ? Me and a cutie were eating at a local diner last night and they actually had on the bottom of the receipt 18% 20% 22%
I know inflation is real but wtf.
20%
Way better to tip with cash for everybody involved
some of the high-end clubs in nyc don't take cash. which is illegal af here, should call them out on it next time.
Joan Didion passed away. Very sad day.
I need to read some Joan Didion, she's been on my radar for like a decade. I do know she was an iconic writer and way ahead of her time.

Gonna read a few of her essays tonight, "Goodbye to All That" is my favorite about NYC. Maybe my favorite essay ever. Gonna hit different knowing she died probably 15 minutes away from here.
