i wouldnt call it psych but i still hear more psych on stooges s/t than almost any kinks song besides like 3

doesnt matter if iggy is the antithesis, he's not the psych part, Ron is. too much wah soloing to have 0 traces of psych. and plus the garage crossover in general makes them sound vaguely similar to some psychy garage bands. and the heaviness+guitar workouts has a bit more similarity in nature to the heavy psych/psychedelic hard rock style (also similarities to what became "stoner rock" later which has psych traces in its DNA). and we will fall is obv psych even if i dont like it much, surely you gotta consider that one psych if you consider a few of those VU songs psych.

wouldnt go on any psych list I make but id roll my eyes at its placement less than I would for Village Green

yea village green isnt as psych as it’s made out to be, the two albums before that seem more so. Still has one of the godliest psych tunes in Big Sky tho

They do have a tinge of American style downer psych and guitar wank for sure but Rainy Day In June (and way more than 3 others) is an entire colorful psychedelic short film basically. Ray and Iggy might have been the only two guys complaining about not having fun during peak 60s flower power era but Ray was still capable of the childlike wonder and Tolkieneaque fantasy like I said yesterday. Iggy would have puked at the thought. We Wil Fall is more like avant-garde Velvet Underground stuff which we've discussed is sort of psych but not really but trippy sounding enough to pump in.
