Tbh I had a room full of my ex's little 19 year old heaux friends howling at Sherlock Jr back in the day and they didn't give a f*** about cinema let alone silent films so after that I recommend it to everyone s***s still universal

You won't find the slapstick holy trinity of Chaplin, Keaton or Lloyd doing racist s*** only seen blackface once or twice in their films iirc. Keaton definitely cast actual black people.

Sherlock Jr is the first silent film I recommend to anyone.... 45 minutes of rapidly escalating stunts and special effects that will blow your mind trust me it's bonkers.
