Can't wait for this to be our Christmas number 1
I’m only warming up to this dude rn but being this close minded about uk rap in 2026 is dumb dude.
As far as I know, this is a suburb rich white boy cosplaying trap s*** with barely above average flows and 2017 beats

You've given this thread more pages than a rapper's you enjoy. That's the problem with Hip Hop in 2025

As I said easy lick for me
Whenever I heard someone playing this s***, me n the homies taking their s***, no Diddy

Say what you want man. EsDeeKid is one of the few last good things about hip hop right now. This genre is dead
You think Avatar is the pinnacle of film and EsDeeKid is the pinnacle of rap? How do you have two WOAT opinions about two separate mediums?
The problem with white rappers is (usually) not the rappers themselves, but instead the white rap fans who propel them above every black rapper and act like they’re making some higher form of art

don’t think either of those things but they’re def better then whatever you’re d***riding
I think you downplaying a lot of those guys man. I definitely think pushing boundaries is very important but I don't think you need to be as influential as DOOM to do so. He wasn't even that popular at the time
I think having a very healthy underground is as important as having groundbreaking genre defining artists anywhere from Carti to Jpeg. Carti was really just an internet rapper at one point I never really saw him getting as big as he got but shout out him
Only reason DOOM wasn’t as big back then was because the internet was still very young and its impact on hip hop wasn’t taken as seriously. I doubt we’re gonna see the same type of thing happen nowadays especially since everyone makes waves on the internet first now.
You do need a healthy underground I agree but like there’s a reason why people were saying rock was dead despite there still being a strong indie scene. The death of a genre is often marked by death of innovation and we aren’t seeing anyone make new waves right now. The closest are guys like Veeze, EsDeeKid, Fakemink (both of whom seem to be starting a whole new UK sound that we might see more young rappers start to hop on)
And I do agree I didn’t see Carti getting this big but I think anyone who heard Magnolia knew Carti was far more than just an internet rapper
