On the real though I feel like
1. People are overreacting to this and are probably still gonna be on Twitter because at the end of the day it is one of the biggest media platforms in the modern era. With so much quick and easy access to information, news, events, communities, cultures, etc people are still gonna want some way to access it. Almost in a sense of "fear of the unknown" or "missing out" however you want to put it as it pertains to you personally.
2. Is it really such a bad thing for us to lose access to all that, or at the very least, take better care of what it is that we consume or engage in? It's been so much negativity and vitriol all over Twitter, IG, Reddit, Facebook, and so many other platforms. Maybe this is just because these are some truly bad times we are living in with so many angry, confused, sad and all that. But so much has poured over into these digital lives we are living. It's like we used social media to escape the hostility of the real world, but we brought it into the digital world.
I guess the point I am trying to get at is be mindful of how we use these platforms going forward. If there even is going forward. They are powerful tools, but they can be harmful, and it is best for us to become more conscious of that so as to prevent it harming us and others when/where/how we can.
But anyway

there's not even a remote chance twitter is going to die in the next decade. it's fun to imagine but it isn't gonna happen.
true but it's fun to overreact cause i know it makes elon feel like a s***ty loser
I don't think it's over even if it goes down, they're resurrect it. But it's gonna be an uphill struggle
I don't think it will be that hard to keep it afloat. The user base is massive and there isn't really a direct alternative that anyone would run to. elon also has enough d***eaters out there that I think they wouldn't have issues finding new employees.

There's not a direct alternative that anyone would run to? There's more competition now than ever before

I just mean purely from an engineering standpoint maintaining twitter with the teams that were previously running things gone is not gonna be fun to deal with

oh for sure, gonna be a f***ing mess especially if they intentionally make things worse on their way out, but they'll ultimately figure it out

all of the major social media platforms have their own niche. that's why they all manage to exist at the same time. they may share some similarities, but realistically you're not replacing one with the other.
Can someone explain to me why he was letting go so many people in the first place ?
No one forced them, he fired half of them and that obviously made the others uncomfortable knowing they could be cut at any time. That would happen to any CEO that did that at any company it's not out of spite to Elon
There were people that quit as soon as the purchase was confirmed lol itβs definitely on both sides but anyway yeah this whole thing was weird and everyone was weird about it

Been common opinion that tech companies are overstaffed with people who contribute little but have high salaries. In order for him to make money from twitter to pay back interest he needs to cut costs drastically
Possible that a lot of the people working at twitter also negatively contribute to the product. When teams are smaller if you're musk and want complete control over what gets done it's easier if it's a small company
