    Yeah? Miquella is St. Trina

I know dude! It's just crazy how well the visuals tie together, were we previously aware that Miquella seems to have died by drowning?

So messmer is probably the son of Marika and whoever she then betrayed, and not necessarily Marika and radagon's, so he might as well be her firstborn, forgotten by people just like another firstborn from another miyazaki series.
And the trailer confirms his role - the tyrant of the realm of shadow, tasked with keeping things clear in her absence and to let nothing leak out of it.
Now the question of why miquella wants to save these people arises. I wonder if its truly just benevolence or something else. Same question could be asked in base game, like why did he favor the unwanted (omens, albinaurics, etc) specifically. Could be a Griffith - Falconia situation

Was all this story in the game? I don't recall anything and I'm near the end. How did I miss this stuff??

It's a lot more vast compared to the other From games. This s*** is like the Illiad or something.

A lot of my speculations in that post are based on the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer, aside from the last part on miquella. But if you're afraid you might have missed parts of the story then you probably did lol. Assuming you dont know, from is known to tell their stories through npc dialogues, item descriptions and enviromental storytelling in addition to the more traditional cutscenes. If you knew all that already, then you should watch some videos that recap the known info and piece together what we know or get back to reading some item descriptions if thats your thing!!
I'm sure it'll make the DLC more cathartic, since we're going to learn about how Marika became a goddess and how the Erdtree and Golden order were born

Yeah I paid no attention to item descriptions and the NPC dialogue felt too vague so I'd just filter through it not meaning much. I'll definitely check out the stuff now though
