Yup, its a last gen game at heart n was always meant to be. Was suppose to come out in 2020 iirc before the next gen consoles were released but then covid happened.

The draw distance & a bit of the resolution are the only things that took some of a hit compared to next gen. Draw distance still good for the era tho & it looks like ds3 but a bit better.

    Still great.

Yea,the draw distance in this game is amazing. Reminded me when developers use to demonstrate games at E3 during the 360 era and be like “you see this castle way back in the distance, yea, you can actually go there” when they knew that s*** was a pre-rendered background lol. Now we have an open world game where you can see everything damn near fully loaded into the distance.

Adds so much to the immersion of a video game.

Figured I would hold out to play this on a PS5.

But the endurance required is agonizing. Plus seeing plenty praise for the last gen versions. All in all got me extremely tempted to just cop for my PS4 slim.

What do I do wise ones.

It like the Dark Souls 1 idea & vision but fully realized n fully tangible.

So crazy. Originally i didnt know how "dark souls open world" would work n in 2020 i was cautious until the gameplay reveal eased me up a lot.

But you really dont know how it is until you actually play, and when yoi do play its like "oh s*** no dih dark souls can work in open world if its like this" its wild. So different from open worlds yet feels very natural & comfortable having just enough familar parts.

Fromsoft really have not missed sonce Demons Souls. I really dont think you can say that about any other company. They drserve the praise more mainstream on the level CD Projeckt Red used to get before Cyberpunk.

And to top it all off so far n as far as we know, theyre also a good n nice company internally along with us too their fans

    Do it.

Comes with a free upgrade to ps5 anyways.

No harm no foul for the future.

For anyone that’s going quality build, USE CLAYMORE once you find it. It’s so f***ing good in this game and barely takes any stamina for such a heavy weapon

  • Feb 25, 2022

The best feeling video games can offer is when you’re midway through a from software boss and your phone starts ringing

You do crazy ass damage in this game just off stats. I’m been continuously finding amazing quality weapons so I’ve been hoarding all my upgrade materials and weapon isn’t even a +1 but i’m tearing down these bosses

whoever said this was gonna be the easiest souls game was way off the mark wtf

Its easier in that some systems are a bit more accessible than before, but otherwise so far thats about it. People said the same s*** about Sekiro but that game was tough as f*** (till you fully master your parry reaction)

I went with confessor. I rarely do magic builds in soulsborne games but im loving the mix between incantations and melee so far

Yeah, launch consoles have an issue where dust or static electricity could activate the sensitive buttons. So my console randomly ejects game discs or goes into rest mode while I'm playing I even removed the eject button, but the issue is still there Sony changed it to more physical buttons you need to press, so later editions of the console doesn't have this

I used to have one of these ps4s and i never thought to just buy digital (idk if would help anyway) ended up trading it for an xbox one bc i had an xbox account already.

Dealt with this while playing bloodborne lmao

You know what’s really crazy tho? Even though Elden Ring is the most believable open world I’ve seen to date cause of how you approach it,at its core,it’s as “video game” as you can get. It doesn’t try to be more then just a video game like a good number of games do and we need more of that in the industry.

Anyways, this game sets a high standard for any other adventure/open world type games after it. I guarantee we’re gonna get a bunch of games that try to follow From’s philosophy and fail. TBH,the absolutely no hand holding/figure it out yourself approach is old school af and exactly what video games need right now.
