Weeknd stans when THAT scene came on
They should've cut to hob it would have made that scene so much harder

Every time it hit the ‘ohhhhhhhh’ part
I kept wishing it transitioned to the ‘ohhh, ohhhh, oh-oh-oh-oh’ into glass table girls
this was just alright, i expected what would happen in the story so that wasnt anything special
best thing about it is the set design / costumes and the way its filmed, dont know what some of yall see in this tbh
6.5/10
anya looked good af tho
so its a 9/10

low-key subconsciously thought of The Weeknd but yeah def picked up on it
Look I’ve really been trying to restrain myself from saying this but:
Anya in the marionette scene

ngl we were all thinking the same just afraid to admit it
Overall I liked it very much but less screen time of the ghosts would have really taken it up a notch for me. I thought that aspect was derivative. My girl had no clue there was any horror elements at all so most of the horror was working from my point of view because she was jumping.
The hype around the 60s scenes is real, some beautiful work there. I know it’s a dream sequence but visually the 60s seemed more modern than the present day with the way it popped.
Love the love for Thomasin
Also excited for the future of Edgar because even though I’ve been a fan of his for a long time, his ability to genre hop/bend allows endless possibilities.

That was a stand out sequence for me too. Her dancing and hand motions and voguing during that scene was sooo charming and charismatic
This had me & lost me in the 3rd act tbh. Up to a certain point, this was great but the ending didn’t really land for me, kinda cheesy
Anti s***worker vibes
not what i got from it tbh
more like s***work is dangerous and not perfect

It is a dated perspective before it is accurate.

i mean the movie is about s***work in 1960s lol

Nah it just uses that as a premise to attack s***work. Good girl from small town being the symbolic opposite of the s***worker, struggling the existential pull from a path she’s not supposed to go down. Just a very weird concept and failed at delivering an overall message so it’s left with takes like this.

s***work isnt perfect and is dangerous isnt dated in any single way
go look at the statistics lol
Like with many Edgar Wright films the third act is a train wreck but everything prior is excellence
I really think he needs a co writer or something moving forward
