Can y’all ignore him don’t let him change this into a boring Stan debate about one artist
It's not about hating on Kendrick though, it's just the topic is focused on Rap declining
If Kendrick wants to take time to drop albums thats cool, but in terms of right now at this present moment, Drake is doing more to keep rap interesting and exciting
Simply releasing an album every year is not keeping things interesting and exciting.
His most interesting album in 8 years isn’t even a rap album
KTT dweebs never had their D*** sucked to that Taliban song by a big booty Latina with box braids
😂😂😂😂😂
Her Loss is basically the new IYRTITL. Idk why you guys are acting like you don't like it all of a sudden
S*** became the new "I don't listen to Drake but I like this album" like NWTS and IYRTITL
Got a goddamn tems song my nigga SHUT UP.
You coulda actually said Her Loss but that’s a collab album with 21
Can y’all ignore him don’t let him change this into a boring Stan debate about one artist
Im off him bro deliberately missing the point

If Drake didn't drop anything since 2017 like Kendrick did, lmfao
Rap would really be dead right now
You guys can call me a stan all you want I don't care
Drake even became a motivating force behind Kanye
The landscape would definitely be different regardless of which artist you prefer
And all those guys followed the effortless cool street guys that didn’t care about being crossover like Future, Thug and Keef
So the real question becomes why didn’t Drake/Kenny/Cole speak deeply to Gen Z born black young men in America who aspired to rap the way Keef/Future/Thug did, while Nicki easily spoke deeply to Gen Z born black young women?
(If anyone takes that as a diss to Drake/Kenny/Cole you need to grow the f*** up and not even bother replying to this tbh)
Because they’re all older gen. Even Keef, future, and thug are older gen, with uzi/carti/x/juice being the latest. There was a progression there that stopped. The street rappers you mentioned spoke to late stage Gen Z because their idols (uzi gen) idolized them + them being relevant on their own + social media becoming more of a melting pot. Nicki and Cardi B were the latest great idols for any black young women so that trickled down into Gen Z.

Rap IS dead right now and Drake has dropped a project every year since 2017
Bottom line: THESE NEW NIGGAS (that get the look) NEED TO GET BETTER.
SAY SOMETHING. DONT LET YOUR CAREER BE PLAYING COSPLAY (e.g. yeat, every opium nigga, etc.)
AND RADIO HEADS, A&Rs NEED TO GET BETTER AND STOP BEING LAZY. Niggas like Blk Odyssy are RIGHT THERE DAWG.
I feel like (and I could be wrong) artists in the blog era actually had to build up a fan base before they got signed vs now where you just have to go viral
This probably isn’t a new talking point but I have stayed out of these discussions

Guess he's what Kanye was to the 2000s
I'd prioritize Bad Bunny and Burna Boy as well
They're GOAT
This too tho rt let’s not front here
TELL THESE NEW NIGGAS TO GO ON A HARD D*** DETOX BEFORE THEIR NEXT LIVE SHOW BECAUSE ITS NO WAY A 45+ Y/O BUSTA RHYMES SHOULD HAVE BETTER BREATH CONTROL THAN NIGGAS NOT EVEN OLD ENOUGH TO LEGALLY DRINK
Guess he's what Kanye was to the 2000s
Kanye was a product of the 2000s though, that’s the point that’s being made.
Drake is a product of the early 2010s, we’re in the early 2020s right now
Rap IS dead right now and Drake has dropped a project every year since 2017
It’s true that rap is not in the best state right now (at least when it comes to the newcomers) but s*** ain’t dead dead rn. Just checking out the spotify charts rn and 5 of the top 10 songs in the U.S rn are rap songs. The lack of success with newer rappers is concerning tho for sure long term
Last time this happened guess who was popping in the underground
TDE
Odd Future
ASAP Mob
Pro Era
Stay tuned…
ORG up next.
