On a related note to this thread there’s a burger place near me that sells 1lb post cooked elk burgers and if you eat the whole thing in one sitting you get your picture on the wall
Imagine the diarrhea after that
the study confuses me
it sez that in the model, btwn 2020 and 2050, deforestation will basically double
but if you replace 1/5 of beef production with fake meat production, that deforestation will be cut in half
so is it saying that decreasing 1/5 of your intake of beef will result in 1/2 of current deforestation? or 1/2 of 2050's doubled deforestation (ie no reduction compared to present deforestation)
drinking a mango smoothie with mango chunks.
already contributing to the movement and showing solidarity

I read it as the latter. Basically just keeping us from our trajectory to make s*** worse rather than any kind of reversal
I always had like only 30% of meat in my entire diet so I guess I'm good

thats not...nevermind
had me full on clenching my fist like Arthur but then i remembered that I can just choose to be happy instead so I smiled and kept posting
Powerful
propaganda by definition is biased and misleading
I am literally citing something from Nature, one of the most reputable science journals in the world. This is unbiased, factual information.
Veganism is a front for MNC’s to control food supplies and leave the public incapable of feeding itself. Go look up how much farmland bill gates bought recently then look up what he did to Africa’s food system on the premise of sustainability. I’m not arguing with the scientifically proven effects of deforestation, but vegan alternatives are often equally s*** for the environment. Food that comes from the land you live on is the best way to eat end of story. Veganism is another evolution further into the s***hole for our food system
With that argument the meat wave is programming too…
Just look at the billboards and commercials

you gonna need to source claims like this cuz everything I speak about regarding veganism comes with sources.
And this ain't even touching the ethical atrocities committed by farmers. 98-99% of meat comes from a factory farm, there isn't anything good about that, not for the people, the land, or the animals.
Food that comes from the land you live on is the best way to eat end of story.
The benefits of eating locally sourced food are overstated when compared against the negatives associated with animal agriculture, so this is simply not a cut and dry truthful statement like you make it out to be. It of course is always better to eat a local plant based diet rather than getting plants shipped halfway around the world, but having those plants shipped like that is still less harmful to the environment than eating local meat.

Your second to last sentence seems to contradict the first tbh. Its much likelier a person could produce most of what they need to eat on the relatively small amount of land individuals tend to possess if they were vegan or plant based(a couple chickens require a pretty small footprint) than actually raising livestock for eating meat.
Na but fr @op il make an effort. I try to eat more chicken anyways
To that point silk plain or notmilk are also the wave
My thing has been trying to find the closest thing to the original that I can’t taste the difference unless I’m thinking about it and swapping that out in daily meals
