Alchemist, Earl and them? They’ve been making the same f—king song for the last twenty f—king years. Nobody gives a s—t. I’m not them. I’m here to evolve, go farther, go harder and I’m gonna do my s—t. I’m not here to give people the bare minimum and have that just be okay, n—a. That’s not me. I’m not wasting my potential like those motherf—kers. I’m not like that.

Considering the fact that jpeg has wanted to collab with Earl for years, this comes off as bitter lmao

I guess the twenty years is more in reference to Alchemist, it's a bit reductive but there's truth to that style of production essentially staying the same mostly..like the last big formal innovation there was alc navy earl and mach establishing drumless as a thing I guess

over the past 3 years ngl I've been a bit checked out with Earl and Alc because it is starting to become a "more of the same" type thing. especially with alc it's become such a brand and you just pretty much know what you'll get. like the McDonald's of the underground or something.

billy has been a bit more adaptable with different sounds. I do wonder if Earl is holding out on releasing because he feels like that too and is looking for a new direction. Sick! def showed him open to some different production

SICK had different production but it still felt like "more of the same" . Probably because of similar delivery, flows and topics being covered. And then the music was just pretty average too.

Hes unfortunately become an uninteresting artist. His earlier work is still goated though and hope he finds his feet again

JPEG is such a bitter hater honestly even if he has a point. You acting like you don’t use the same flow on every song too

Not sure how I feel when the alc versions change the cover so massively. Totally different vibe and feel to the album now. Glad that all the stupid nft exclusive songs are back on the album though

is this going to be on streaming?

    I would hope so

The updated/rerelease Alch versions of Great Escape by Larry June, No Idols by Domo and elephant man’s bones by Roc Marci were all put on streaming the same day they went on sale physically

The only Alc edition rerelease that didn’t go up on streaming is Haram by Armand Hammer, but I’m not sure if that even had a different tracklist.

Lol it’s really wild how some people react to NFTs. That was an amazing move on their part that allowed them to get paid and fans to have access to the songs that couldn’t go on streaming at the time.

The only party that came really out bad was Gala Music. If the platform would have actually gained traction the owners of the NFTs would be getting paid for every play which is a great model that the world just isn’t ready for.

I guess people that bought the NFTs didn’t come out great but it’s an investment that’s how they work.

If they did the same thing but with Spotify or Apple Music you would actually be an idiot not to buy one.

it was definitely on mine cus this album deserved having all the tracks together and not having some of the best ones stuck on an NFT site. i don't think the streaming version was as good without them at all. also 9/10 of people who listened to this album on streaming like regular didn't even know about the missing tracks. this is how it should've been from the beginning and i'm sure we would've gotten it this way if not for the NFT deal

I do not think the consumers right now truly understand how difficult it is to release music today, specifically when you’re trying to profit. Add in the sampling aspect.

Niggas have to take what they can get in this current state of music/streaming,at the end of the day music has never been this accessible, but its crazy how we’ve been trained to believe because something isn’t available on a streaming service in the way we see fit it taints the entire release/body of work. The conditions are to blame imo not the artists

spare me, both of these artists are millionaires. and they make stupid money on merch especially through Alc's merch approach. they could've thrown it on bandcamp if it was that serious like all other small artists. they just wanted a big bag from some gullible NFT merchants and gave them exclusivity
