When you got the winning formula, why change up for the hell of it? Why change up for the niggas who's going to trash the album regardless? Imo, he's making good music. It's nothing groundbreaking, but the s*** is on repeat because it sounds good. I gave CMIYGL a couple of spins, but was off it (outside of a few songs) once new music dropped. He took a risk, but did it pay off?

Are you a traditional hip hop fan? Nas isn't doing anything to push boundaries but KD2 sounded great. I wouldn't ask him to take any risk. Same with Jay if he wanted to drop

Now that I think about it there’s not a single good “hit” on this album.

Drake fans always like drake makes hits not albums and that’s always been the case. But man there’s not a single hit here that’s a better hit than any singles off views more life or scorpion

Like i said in the post you quoted, im not expecting him to change such a winning formula, but im also in my right to call it out for being boring (imo)

Nas is an elite rapper who can be on comfortable production and still make it interesting purely from his lyrics. He paints multiple interesting pictures with his words. It seperates him from alot of other rappers like Drake. He sounds hungry on KD and he doesnt have anything to prove

Drake sounds like he’s on autopilot for 80% of the album and he’s still in his prime. Drake actually has really good production (40 a GOAT) but i just feel he can utilise it better. His subject matter is just very tedious at this point

Fair criticism. I can’t say I completely agree with you on everything, but I understand where you coming from. Nas can definitely capture my attention with his words. Drake doesn’t do that as much as he use to. I know he hates his old rapping cadence, flows, and etc but I felt like he really made us listen to what he had to say. BUT, I still feel like Drake makes more enjoyable music than Nas.
