And imma be honest. as rich as Drake is going against UMG is a different kind of money battle man lol. Their lawyers probably know his, idk how this ends

Unless this nigga was planning on hitting them for an absurd amount of money, I don’t see how he thinks this was worth it.

We knew the beef was over the day Not Like Us dropped. UMG didn’t change s***.

    Torts

    1. Defamation (if proven false):
    * Drake could claim that Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify harmed his reputation by artificially boosting Kendrick Lamar’s song to undermine his credibility.

    * Key Elements:
        * A false statement presented as a fact.
        * Publication to a third party.
        * Damage to reputation or finances.

    1. Business Interference:
Allegations of "payola" and bot usage could qualify as tortious interference with prospective economic advantage if UMG and Spotify's actions disrupted Drake’s business opportunities.
    Key Elements:
    Intentional and improper interference.
Resulting in harm to Drake’s commercial relationships or earnings.

    1. Unfair Competition:
UMG's alleged use of deceptive practices (e.g., bots) to promote Lamar's song could be construed as unfair competition.
    Key Elements:
Misleading practices impacting fair market competition.
    Financial harm to competitors.

    Statutory Violations
    1. RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act):
    * Drake's Claim: UMG violated RICO by engaging in a pattern of fraudulent activity (bots, payola, false advertising) to artificially inflate Lamar's song's popularity.

    * Key Elements:
        A) Conducting or participating in an enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity.
        B) Involves two or more acts of racketeering within ten years.
    C) Examples of Racketeering Acts: Wire fraud, mail fraud, or money laundering.

    1. Deceptive Business Practices (New York Law):
    A) Allegation: UMG and Spotify engaged in deceptive practices under New York General Business Law § 349. * Key Elements:
    B) Acts or practices that are misleading in a material way.
    C) Consumer harm or harm to competitors.

    1. Payola (Federal Communications Act):
    A) Allegations of UMG using payola (undisclosed payments to promote music) would violate the Federal Communications Act.
    B) Key Provisions:
    C) Payment for music promotion must be disclosed to listeners.

    2. False Advertising:
    A) If UMG knowingly promoted Lamar’s song with fraudulent metrics or claims, it may violate laws against false advertising.
    B) Key Statutes:
    C) Lanham Act (15 U.S.C. § 1125): Covers false advertising and misrepresentation in commerce.

    Legal Remedies
    1. Injunction:
    A) Drake could seek a court order to prevent UMG and Spotify from continuing the alleged practices.

    1. Damages:
    A) Compensatory Damages: Lost revenue from alleged artificial inflation.
    B) Punitive Damages: To deter UMG/Spotify from future violations.

    1. Declaratory Relief:
    A) A declaration that UMG’s actions were unlawful.

Drake's legal team would need to prove these violations through evidence of fraudulent activity (e.g., bot logs, financial records of payola schemes, or a***ytics manipulation). The court will examine whether the actions constituted intentional interference or deception and whether they harmed Drake's reputation or earnings.

Are we really gonna say drakes whole 2010 run was bots? Cuz those were a lot of sold out shows I went to live with bots then man idk lmaoo

I’m not saying whether Drake personally used bots or not

I’m saying Drake had to have been well aware that labels use bots for years now, so why address it now? He’s only suing about bots now because NLU affected his image.

It’s insane how people see Drake as the victim in this situation. It’s the exact opposite. He’s mad because UMG didn’t pick sides in this battle.

He’s so used to UMG/Spotify shoving his garbage music onto every playlist/shuffle making it impossible to avoid.

He always manipulates/faking the streaming numbers and now that UMG didn’t bow down to him, he’s suing them.

That’s also why he dumped the 100GB of garbage this summer, just to spite UMG. I really hope UMG ends his career.

we got mfs praying for record labels man

Uncleared Family Matters sample, actually. Supposed to back the MJ/Kendrick part. Again, liner notes leaked from Drake’s camp. All bad.

Hold tf on its coming back to me. Isn’t the b&w picture with Drake sucking a lollipop a teaser for the diss?

    “Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles”

Referencing a Drake album followed by the pedo claim makes it very clear who he’s referring to

S at the end pedophile can be taken as a remark to chubs and the people he has on payroll that have those cases which were referenced in the bars before it.
