gumboI understand what you’re saying. And I know why Drake approaches writing that way. S***, it’s lead to almost 2 decades of non stop hits. But like you said earlier , he needs to be more transparent about that. And don’t get sensitive when niggas come for your integrity. Especially when you go on interviews and say “every song that did real damage for me, I wrote every single lyric” because it’s clearly some pop star s*** going on to me
He writes more than most pop stars though. Like he wrote the Jack Harlow verse for example.
That’s why I wish he would be more upfront with it. If people knew all the s*** he DID write, the stuff he don’t or didn’t write would not be a big deal
Maybe that’s just the fan in me wishing he did that though because why do he need clear s*** up lol for who

But also idk how “original” you can say the hook is when it’s an interpolation of that Lykke Li song and the hook isn’t even like the best writing at that.
I think what made the hook what it was is the melody which isn’t even originally from this guy
