What Tswift do first week? I don't think either are hitting that mark.

You're severly underestimating the hysteria around him and the amount of attention he's getting and has gotten. Open your eyes a bit. 700K is possible considering Mr Morales did 300K and that s*** was pure ass. Bots or no bots, he puts songs out on Twitter with zero captions no nothing and he's killing our boy in the numbers game - as far as these diss tracks are considered. I have no clue what abstract / direction the album he had was pre-beef, but looking at the madness his 'fans' love and the world loves, Dot is definitely reworking songs and adding new stuff to make it far more commercial this time.

500k is a generous estimation unless nlu is just the start of an even bigger rollout he's not pushing 700k with the momentum he has currently

Damn, what changes did they make to streaming?

It’s actually really complicated lol.. first, music consumption, post COVID, is down significantly across the board. Secondly, Billboard has revised (on a yearly basis at this point) how they count albums sales from a streaming perspective, digital downloads, etc. and the ratios have become less favorable as the years have passed. They took away bundling merchandise, etc for a brief period but as of right before UTOPIA dropped last year that was re-instilled (thus why Travis Scott’s album performed very well from a “first week” perspective because he bundled merch and vinyls I believe).

In short, over the past 5-6 years selling albums via streaming or digital downloads has become increasingly harder. This is why Taylor swifts numbers have not really been affected at all. Because it’s mostly pure sales

Yeah I don't know too much about sales and streaming but if Kenny can hit 400k or 500k it was definitely successful.

If Drake can hit those numbers too then the elimination of Drake will never happen. Mostly because I noticed people giving his albums flowers years after they are out. I see people praising Honestly Nevermind a lot right now and when it first came out people were mixed on it.

Also the reply value on Drake's albums are typically better than Kendrick's.

That's why Kenny was able to hit 600k on Damn, right? Because he bundle it?

But thanks for explaining some of it! I appreciate it!

Yeah everyone praises DAMN doing 600k but they never talk about the bundles he had. Drake and Cole are the last of mainstream rap to never do the bundle s***
