Drake is gonna need to COMMIT to something. Like, actually rap. I think he has maxed out of his ability to just vibe and “sing” …and I’ve been a legitimate fan since 2007. I have every song, demo, and snippet out there…

But it’s time. Drake has to rap. And I dont know what its gonna take for him to do this

Also…we’re seeing aging rappers regain their footing later in their careers with indie projects in their 40s and early 50s. Drake is 37…he’s got a LONG career ahead of him if he wants to be out there in the next 10 years. Ross is like 48-49. Theres no more time to be playing around.

Drake needs to solidify his ability to rap in this industry. He was allowed to ride different lanes but he’s gotta show he’s competent in what brought him to the dance.

It’s time for the truth. Back when “Brand New” came out…we tolerated it because of the lyrics and that we knew he was a rapper who was a good song writer for R&B.

The singing was never enough to be a singer. he’s not Phonte or even Donald Glover with the vocals. The SONGS were enough enough to excuse his voice…and it’s not gonna cut it anymore. Do you think Drake sounds like BLXST?

Guys…we need some transparency here.

These “songs” aren’t up to snuff lately and he needs to reflect where the majority of his talent resides: RAPPING.

Claiming that he touches different genres is covering for the fact that he dabbles not commits. The guy didn’t work on his vocals and is hoping the attempts at genres work out instead of COMMITTING to the bit. Touching genres doesn’t make you a solid contributor to the genre!

Drake. Must. Rap. He has to show he’s at least competent or competitive or capable or above average in ONE field. He allowed himself to be received away from what he is…and frankly he’s abused his rap fans by sheer neglect.

Imo he already showed enough that he is in the upper tier as a rapper as well as a RnB songwriter.

I would prefer it, if his next releases are more melodic genres, but in the end Drake decides that himself.

I had tickets to a drake show in ATL in 2007 that got cancelled due to low ticket sales when only Comeback Season was out.

I’ve BEEN riding with the boy. But he needs a career revamp and this lazy sonics, singing, and lack of focus is hurting him.
