He’s been involved in some way or another for almost if not more than a decade. Black Coffee just one example, so it’s not like he’s just inserting himself in the genre imo.

Also having him, Gordo and Keine working on HNVM shows that it’s not just a cash grab but the people in the scene enjoy the collabs.

He's had other forays into the space notably majid Jordan features. You could even say in some circles he's more respected in edm than in rap because of his ability to float on any melody. My boy was part of 4B's team before he enlisted and knows Gordo. Drake gets absolute love in that community (some ppl like diplo don't fw him tho lol).

One thing I appreciate with Drake is he takes risks experimenting with different sounds, collaborating with different people.
