The TML > TC comment is WILD looking back on 10+ years later
When you guys are talking about âgrowingâ what exactly do you meanâŚ
Ion know, maybe start writing some songs about something other than pretending to be a mob boss or getting his "heart broken" by women in their early-mid 20s after he was their pay pig?
Dude is in his mid 30s with a kid and it's like he been sticking to the same topics since Take Care. S*** was twelve years ago. Personally I feel like around Scorpion it was definitely time for him to start switching it up, but it feels like he's only gone deeper into that bag.
If someone were to put on tracks from Scorpion, CLB, Her Loss, and FATD I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference between what albums they came from. It's all the same to me
Calling For You starts out so hard, why tf he had to put that long ass interlude and 21 on that s***

I ask this question respectfully, if youâve felt like this for that long what makes you check up for new drake albums?

I always give Drake a chance just off NWTS, IYRTITL, and More Life. I really enjoyed those projects. Outside of Honestly Nevermind, I haven't finished a Drake album through since...shit since More Life lmao
Normally I give his albums 5-6 tracks before I realize that he really made the same exact kinda album again. Feel like I'm not missing much. He pump fakes audiences with singles that give the impression he's doing something different, just for the albums to be the same old Drake, with him desperately tryna chase/recreate the magic of his 2011-2015 era. It's disappointing more than anything.
I suppose it doesn't matter because his fans will accept and make excuses for whatever he squats out. And he ends up selling well, so he has no incentive to try anything new/different. But knowing he's capable of better, I just don't have the time or energy to sit through another hour and forty minute long album of him doing the same thing anymore.
I truly believe that Drake can easily make a âclassic albumâ if he wanted to and he just chooses, for whatever god awful reason, not to.
Like I refuse to believe that man doesnât know to just get Nicki Minaj, Wayne, Ross, Sampha, Majid Jordan & J Cole on a tracklist and just make some good f***ing music.
Like thereâs no way that man doesnât know to just keep it at 14ish tracks, and to just have an insane intro like heâs had with Tuscan Leather and OMDB.

I know he's definitely capable of making great albums. If anything, he really just gotta cut back on these long ass albums. It's just no way you get to 85+mins of music for an album and don't feel like there are some tracks/interludes/skits/etc that can be cut.
Trim the fat and focus on one or two particular sounds that will differentiate his projects from one another. Cause over the last five years it's only one project from him that really stands out. Feel like if any other artist had that kinda track record they'd be rightfully called out on it. Which is what I think is happening for FATD.
I've seen plenty of Drake albums go through the "people don't like it now, but will later" cycle. But it's been feeling different this time around. As if people are exhausted at this point.
after everyone hated HNVM for months, Iâve seen more love for it than ever before.
I will never trust their immediate perception. I trust the music
Itâs funny because a lot of people, including Drake himself said that folks would regret hating on it eventually. And the response was a widespread âNahâ âYouâre not a visionaryâ and all sorts of stuff like that
then it happened anyway

Seeing this comment calling for drake to just redo Tuscan Leather and Over My Dead Body just under the other dude saying Drake needs to grow is wild and shows why nobody is ever satisfied with Drake projects these days.
Meanwhile nobody gets @ Cole for rapping he's number 1 or top 3 in every track or for repeating the same type of bars. And I love Cole and Drake but that's just what you're gonna get from them. Kendrick is the only one doing "experimental" albums and...good for him and his fans but I'm not fw an album that has more concept than heaters personally.

Real ones knew off rip that it was different and had legs on it

Weâll see what happens. He did say heâs taking a break for around a year after this album. Iâm hoping he truly sticks to his word, recoups, and comes back with a new sound.
saw some s*** about how dude's a victim of his own success and doesn't have any real competition leading him to his own complacency.... p convincing tbh
âyou either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself to become the villainâ
He's touring Europe soon. I expect them to start working on the next then lol
Nah tour but no more music for while. Tbh he might even not tour Europe
