If these are impactful then Flowerboy, igor and cmiygl are all impactful then

Were they impactful to mainstream rap? If so then why is it so hard for you to list 5 impactful songs from those projects?

Point to where I said that. Quickly.

I specifically said mainstream rap because he is a mainstream rapper. I don't give a f*** about all the rap weirdo niggas who f*** with his s*** because most mainstream rappers don't play in that space the same way Tyler can.

I'm speaking specifically about how impactful his music has been in mainstream rap music just in terms of discussions/debates/influence, the same markers we use for all the other mainstream rap niggas. I won't even use numbers since y'all don't like that.

I'm not denying what he has built with his brand and I'm not denying his talent as a producer/rapper. I'm not denying that many of his peers like him but people were hard-pressed to mention even just 5 impactful songs he has. I can probably list off 5 impactful songs off Coloring Book and that s*** ain't got anything to do with numbers/stats. That's the point I'm trying to make. That and no f***ing way is his discography better than Drake's because he's got a couple acclaimed albums in his pocket lol.

I'm talking bout mainstream rap as well lol

We also said he impacted yeezus but u sidestepped that for some reason.

And only 2 of them actually fit the criteria.

  • Anyways, I've derailed this thread enough. It's not about Tyler. Just wanted to say his discography isn't better than Drake's and I have.

I wonder if Drake will announce the album on Thursday night and drop it a few hours later like he did with Honestly, Nevermind or if he'll make an announcement saying it drops the next week Friday like he did with Her Loss 🤔

Bloated ass album dat has singles that are not gonna age well idc

The album is loaded with peak drake, almost none of which are “singles”

    Is there more(!!!!)
    Jaded (!!!!)
    Survival
    Nonstop
    Elevate
    Sandra’s rose
    Emotionless
    8 out of 10
    Can’t take a joke
    March 14th
    Mob Ties
    Peak

Not counting some of the biggest rap records of this era in god’s plan and nice for what.

I get it music is subjective but he don’t have many more albums in his catalogue with this many high quality drake records. The volume + quality is insane and I think if you listen to it without the pusha t context, many would feel differently about it.

How crazy will it be if Drake posts an IG story that reads "🧢" over a screenshot of a tweet saying he has an album dropping this month

I think he shot 20/25 on the album and that's a high efficiency.

Released after the Adidon bullshit, a time when it was the trending/cool thing to hate on Drake (Not saying it isn't cool to hate on Drake now as well, but at that time Drake was goofed all over the internet). That album was way too influenced by that beef. Most people remember that era as Drake losing to Pusha T and Scorpion being 'mid'. In reality, Scorpion is probably one of his most successful albums and probably his best album in terms of hits. God's Plan, In My Feelings, Nice for What, I'm Upset, Nonstop. I don't think any other Drake album had that many 'hits'

    Exactly how I feel.

I don’t know of any other rapper today who could do a double album and reach that level of volume + quality. Insane feat.

It’s honestly in my top 5 OAT drake projects. Probably top 4.

Discog wise it’s Drake and Kanye in a damn near dead heat. No one else is even close, if you’re saying otherwise you’re delusional or a hater.

What about Hov, Outkast and Kendrick? Ill give the nazi number 1 tho.

The standards he’s held to are insane. That’s why every album it gets lukewarm reception but 4 months later someone goes viral for championing how good the album is.

It’s all personal, but IMO idk how you could love drake’s music and not see the flat out brilliance of scorpion. 20/25 is right where I’d have it too, and that probably puts it right up there with the best albums of his catalogue

I’m clashing scorpion with any other album in his catalogue

It's definitely better than it gets credit for. It's funny people don't see how biased they are against Drake. It's happened like 5 times now. He drops a new album, everyone's s***s on it and calls it mid/trash and then a few months later, everyone starts doing a 180° on their takes. Happened with Views, More Life, CLB, Honestly, Nevermind.

Chance the Rapper's Acid Rap/Coloring Book were impactful releases.

ScHoolboy Q's Oxymoron album was impactful.

    dvsn's Sept. 5th was impactful.
    PND1/2 were impactful.

    Hm

It has his best singles run but yeah, redoing the album to be about the beef was a mistake and it’s just too long

R&b drake can do much better than side B imo. Side A is strong but you need a really strong disc 2 to make a double album a good listen and this wasn’t that

It’s probably his worst album as a whole
