Didnât 50 say Drake was working on a new album and it was hard like 3 months ago ??

This
Yes, but quite literally a discography means all of an artist's recordings. Albums don't carry more weight automatically simply because they're albums because what if that artist preferred releasing EPs to albums?
My point is that taking all of Drake's recordings into consideration, he has the strongest catalog in mainstream rap history. I stand on that and I don't really need anyone to agree with me tbh lol.
Albums do carry more weight in virtually every conversation about musicians. If an artist was only releasing 4 song EPs every year, they wouldnât be considered as having one of the greatest discographies of all time.
In these conversations, the full length project carries the most weight and thatâs not even an opinion, the vast majority of musicians who are considered to be the greatest of all time are in those conversations because of albums. MJ, The Beatles, Prince, Stevie, BeyoncĂŠ, Kanye, the list goes on and on.
Obviously this doesnât mean every single album those artists released were 10/10s, but theyâre only in those talks because of the S-tier albums that exist in their catalog, not because of features, loosies, and leaks.
And btw, Iâm not disagreeing that Drake has one of the greatest rapper discographies ever, what Iâm disagreeing with is your reasoning that albums donât carry the most weight in an artistâs discography.
All of them lmfao
Literally

Oh s*** true

I think that's still subjective on a genre-to-genre basis.
In genres like Dance/Electronic/Alternative music, there are tons of acclaimed acts that have more EPs than albums, which is my point.
Generally, people value albums more, yes but there are artists who are highly regarded who didn't build their discography mostly off albums and that's a fact.

Totally forgot about this. Anyone got a link to that?
But they're not mid. 95% of mainstream rappers aren't dropping albums that good. They're "mid" compared to his best work, but half the songs on each of those albums are great songs. Drake just gets judged on a crazier scale than anyone else because of who he is and what he's done.
Why is this a bad thing though?
The higher standard you set for yourself, the higher standard you will be held to by the audience. This isnât only true in music, itâs true in virtually every creative field or field that involves competition.
LeBron is held to a higher standard than the rest of his peers because of what heâs accomplished throughout his career.
Albums like Ye and Jesus is King arenât actually garbage unlistenable music, but theyâre dismissed as subpar because of the standard of quality Kanye held for himself the first twelve years of his career.
Drake isnât judged on a crazier scale than everyone else just because, heâs judged on that scale because thatâs the scale he himself has shown he can reach numerous times throughout his career, so when he falls short of it, people react accordingly.
Drakeâs biggest problem has always been having filler on albums. HNVM was a breath of fresh air & a nice step in the right direction stepping somewhat out of his usual formula box regarding his albums, CLB was a dud quality wise to me regardless of having some gems on it
Peeps are just too young to realize all the hits Ye has produced
I saw a bunch of high school girls bumping 808âs the week he said he was a nazi I def donât think thatâs the case

Love how the internet uses one example and make it universal

This lol itâs also the same issue I have with Cudi and them. Mfs donât know that I grew up on listening to Drake and was there since Degrassi even. Youâre not convincing me that albums like Scorpion, CLB, and even Views are created in the same high standard Take Care - IYRTITL were.

Never said it was a bad thing, just that it factors into how Drake's music is judged compared to most of the rest of the rap industry. Of course, he's that highly regarded because he has a long history of putting out amazing music but it's still worth noting how high a standard he has to clear with regards to the actual quality of the music in comparison to what everyone else is dropping.
His music isn't mid or bad. Worst thing you could say about Drake is that some of his songs aren't as good as his best songs.
really hope this is something with real work behind it and not some phoned in bullshit for streams and clout
drake has been my favorite rapper for the past 3 years but he really let me down a couple times this year
