God y’all just keep saying dumb s*** that makes me want to reply tho lmao

    And there’s another thing I don’t like

If you don’t like him or have criticism then your out of touch and not open minded even tho I listen to s*** way weirder and more experimental than Carti. We went over this in another thread

And also what’s some criticism you have of him as a fan of his music not him being a pos in real life?

Bruh you just said Carti fans aren’t knowledgeable. How is that any different? We don’t need to hear about how you like weird music either lol. Some RYM ass s***

And I don’t have a single issue with Cartis music. Loved WLR, love the 4 singles he dropped. But if he does drop something I don’t like I’ll say it

Carti and Future some of the most protected artists in general lol u just gonna have to understand that.

I just don’t understand why Carti fans can’t acknowledge a single fault in anything he does. I have plenty of criticism against all my favorites

If you can’t see the overly insane d*** riding Carti gets idk what to tell you

“This artist deserves less credit for their art” isn’t really much of a criticism though

nobody cares that you don't like the music bro get out of here ur opinion is not something anyone needs to cosign we all disagree with you this convo ended years ago the voice is an instrument thing should be common sense by now aint no way ur still on the old criteria of what makes a good rapper
this thread isnt even about our personal affinity with his projects

Wish more rap fans would understand and respect the voice being an instrument. Rap is not just about the words someone is saying

    And rapping.

Rap fans don’t acknowledge or understand the second part, which is why rap music usually gets judged by the literal lyrics the rappers are saying

The numbers I had were from Luminate in 2019, here’s their recent a***ysis

    Top Streaming Genres of 2023
    R&B/Hip-Hop – 27.3%
    Rock – 16.5%
    Pop – 12.8%
    Latin – 8.1%
    Country – 7.9%
    Dance/Electronic – 3.7%
    World Music – 2.5%
    Christian/Gospel – 1.7%
    Classical – 0.8%
    Jazz – 0.7%

But you got it tho, y’all niggas love that Spotify d*** just to s*** on our culture

ok now you just yapping, u aint even capping, u a ceritfied yapper like my b**** always yapping in my ear about bullshit

You replied to me saying this:

"Man shut the f*** up. Nobody gives a f*** what them music execs are doing to further pad their pockets. Rap still accounts for 59% of streaming and 51% of top streaming artists are rappers"

you said RAP accounts for 59% of all streaming (you living in 2016?)

then i give you cold hard facts showing you thats far from the case, then u reply back to me yapping saying R&B AND RAP account for ONLY 27%, meanwhile u just sliding in an entirely different genre of R&B into the mix WITH RAP and it's still only 27%, not even close to your made up number of 59%

now lemme give you some bigger facts cus i told ur b**** ass u dont even wanna see the top consumed albums for 2023, but since u yapping like my girl on a monday night talking about her day, lemme break it down for u:

there are a TOTAL of 5 RAP albums in the top 30 most consumed albums in 2023 which includes ALL METRICS not just spotify.

and just in case u bad at math like my b**** is, 5 out of 30 is 16% you bozo, now next time u come yapping about rap being dominant still, take a step back, log off KTT and go outside

    You don’t believe this

It's not even debatable. Every single one of Travis albums smokes Carti's production wise

If Travis dropped any of those it'd be known as his worst album since he's known for production

  • Free YoungBoy

You just don’t understand/get why people are attracted to his music.

Saying it’s the production or whatever sounds cute but when you really break it down none of the clones or people running with whatever current style he have made even close to the same level of impact except for like Yeat. So you can throw the producer s*** out the window right there.

No it is the production, the richer higher up u are u have access to premier beats

You hear songs like FlatBed Freestyle, @ MEH, Stop Breathing, 2024, & Backr00ms and come to the conclusion that the producers are doing all of the work? What other rapper has showcased such a level of vocal agility as Carti has?

    That is the beat carrying

It’s not because Carti is what makes all of those songs interesting

Stop Breathing is literally the same 2-bar loop for four straight minutes

It’s a premier beat, look how Uzi made a knock off stop breathing (suicide doors) by purposely getting a similar beat from da same person
    Then he start saying randomness

The first time I ever heard Stop Breathing, what stood out to me was Carti’s vocal performance, not the production

Also this. Stop Breathing is clearly a much better song, even though the production on Suicide Doors is arguably better and more fleshed out. Carti is the difference

your even using the arguments old heads were using years ago
u understand carti doesnt even use that much autotune right? Any rappers raw vocals usually doesnt sound the best thats how production works when someone is using autotune they work around it to use it as a tool

i cant believe im having this same bullshit to fight with as in 2018
What makes a good rapper is no longer lyrics bro, an artist can be great with melodies, delivery, adlibs, the whole wheel of ways a voice can be used on a track to enhance it. Its about the music. People like YOU hurt progress and are about 10 years late.

    heres a question

IF carti is so carried by beats, why is he 30x the size of pierre? Even in 2019?
Hes the main producer behind most of his first 2 albums and a quarter of wlr how come even though he saves the ebst beats for the godly TLOP series, Carti completely laps him? It's because carti has a unique vocal style with this range and evolution, that makes good MUSIC. YOU might personally not like it but that level talent is something hundreds have tried to replicate and it takes work, you wouldnt be able to do it.

so instead of discrediting the different forms rap has evolved and progressed, why dont you just sit back and try to understand when something is out your element instead of persisting on this narrative to s*** on whatever is new
