nobody cares that you get emotional about the reputation of someone who will never know who you are. im fine with people getting my streaming money, doesnt change the quality of their music or character which in terms of drake is currently trash on both fronts

keep getting worked up cause people don't worship him like you tho, you're in the right place for it ill give you that at least

I'm not worked up about anything, just calling out bullshit when I see it and hilarious of you to speak on the "character" of a man who is total stranger to you but hey lmao.

section 80 untitled unmastered and to pimp a butterfly are all easy to digest hell id even say mr morale is too its not really that complex he was just talking about s*** niggas aint wanna hear at the time

These clowns really think there's anything overly complex about the themes and topics Kendrick explores in his music

    who tf is yall

nigga taylor swift was gassing that album up the day it dropped, and it was critically acclaimed and d*** sucked by any cracker on earth. there is proably more TPAB and GKMC vinyls hanging in college dorms than there are birkin bags in on earth. TPAB sold half a million first week won every award ever. the replay value debate comes from it being compared to OTHER CONTEMPORARY RAP ALBUMS that released during that time. DIRTY SPRITE 2 was a masterpiece but was overshadowed critically by something like TPAB. What the STREETS was feeling vs what the CRITICS was feeling was different and thats where the replay bullshit comes from

how are we retconning that kendrick lamar is one of the most accessible hip hop artists of all time, and its this very reason he's able to convert his compton trauma that isnt relatable to anyone into something people live and die by. tf is u on nigga

TPAB sold half a million first week won every award ever.

324K is half a million now?

Nobody’s denying that Kendrick is accessible. But the fact is that half of his discography is not. The average person is not playing TPAB and Mr. Morale on a regular basis. Debate a wall

Anyone denying Drake isn’t one of the most commercial successful rappers ever, is delusional

And saying that, does not negate the fact that Kendrick beat Drake badly in one of, if not the biggest, hip-hop beef OAT

I love how the argument changed from “Drake makes fast food music” to “everyone streams his music from the a decade ago so much that his back catalog is what makes him the most successful”

People long for the McDonalds of the early 2000s over the modern McDonalds of today. Even fast food can have golden eras and subsequent fall offs

Doesn’t make sense when you remember that the whole fast food metaphor was trying to imply his work was disposable, for the moment and wouldn’t stand the test of time. Now that that’s out the window, the goal posts moved

Speaking of; I don’t think the McDonald’s a***ogy for Drake that people use holds up completely, but to omit the fact that people DO love the taste of McDonald’s - and that being a much bigger reason for its cultural staple level of success than affordability - is dishonest in every way. Mfs eat McDonald’s mainly because they love McDonalds

Tends to happen when the quality falls off even further, making people go back to a time when things were better compared to how they are now. Which is exactly what I'm saying when I say people miss McDonalds of the past. Wasn't really too great back then either but compared to now it seems better.

This is literally false. People have been complaining about the taste to affordability ratio with McDonalds since the end of the pandemic. That's the reason they're trying to bring people back with fake "value meals"

That’s not what happened lol. There’s no way you even believe what you’re saying.

So you’re saying that Drake is the most streamed artist because his current music is bad which made his old music get streamed so much for nostalgia that he still ended up the biggest artist

Makes no sense, his old work never stopped getting streamed.

It’s fast food on the corner of main streets that shouldn’t put a hole in the wallets of broke people, ofc that’s gonna be a talking point. That does not at all take away from the point that people legitimately enjoy McDonald’s and that’s the main reason it’s so successful
